There are several reasons for using corn as a sweetener and they can be summed up to cost benefits, manufacturing efficiencies, it is essentially indistinguishable from sugar by our bodies ¡V both taste and biologically. Corn sweetener was developed because: A. Economics (what else? º) basically due to shortages, and price increases back in the 1970¡¦s. B. Flavor is an equivalent sweetness to table sugar. C. Our bodies process corn sweetener almost identical to sugar. D. Corn sweetener has an ¡§early¡¨ sweetness profile which enhances flavors in food and beverages; that makes corn a very good choice over some of the other sweeteners (no aftertaste either). E. Retards spoilage and extends product freshness better than sugar. Hope this helps.

Q: What is the expiration date on these?

They don’t technically “expire!” They have a best by date which is over a year out from when these were received

There’s 4mg of caffeine in the NuGo Original Coffee bar. For reference, a regular 8oz cup of coffee contains about 96mg of caffeine and an 8oz cup of black tea contains about 47mg.
