Q: How do they mount? Magnet?

There are two thin bendable wires that look a little like insect legs so you can easily mount it to a plant or tape the legs on a wall.

Q: Am I able to request the battery pack for this?

Yes, the battery packs are an accessory to the Moving Butterflies and need to be ordered separately but yes, they are available. You would just use the battery pack in stead of the plug-in adapter. They are interchangeable.

2 of the 3 stopped working within a short time

I don't understand why but two of the three butterflies that I have stopped working within a few months. The mechanism cells are not very complicated and all we're handled the same way. Very disappointed.
