This one is like a knock off Varier Balans (but I think it actually looks better). Stationary kneeling chairs will put pressure on your knees and cause a new kind of pain along with a stiff back. Rocking back and forth alleviates this, making this chair far more comfortable than the others. Here's the rub: If you plan to sit in this 8+ hours a day at work, you will probably not be happy with it. If you plan to sit in this for 4 hours a day and mix in standing and walking, then you will love it. I would recommend this over an exercise ball or a standing desk (I've used both). Be warned, it is not super straightforward to put together. Review: Thank goodness for extra cushion! - I am a fidgeter when at my desk, prone to bad posture, and currently extremely limited on space (I needed a chair that could be tucked under my desk because all I have is the narrow walkway between my bed and desk). My friends purchased these and quite enjoyed them, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon! Definitely the thicker cushion for this style is recommended and needed. I’m not petite, so that extra cushion is necessary, especially since I’ve cracked my tailbone in the past and have had issues with my sciatic nerves ever since. Sometimes I find that after an extensive period of time, my tailbone region starts to hurt - it seems to be a combo of the angle that my weight settles when sitting, along with the compression of the cushion. I can’t imagine trying to use one of those kneeling chairs that has like a 1.5” cushion! That being said, the cushions are NOT super firm, so they seem to wiggle/slide a bit. I’m worried about the seat cushion being pushed and settling forward instead of actually staying put under the bun. My other concern is long term quality. I’m already thinking that I need to get in there and tighten the screws again as there seems to be some play in one of the knee rests. While I’m not petite, I’m well within the weight limit of this furniture, but I don’t think I would recommend this for someone that is 200lbs or more. If even that much. I love that I can rock (though this doesn’t work great on my carpet), but you do have to be careful of puppy/pet/kid paws getting in there! The space saving is appreciated, and the kneeling chair looks really nice. I overall find it comfy, though I don’t think I could handle 8 hours using it. But it works great for my home desk that I usually only spend a few hours at a time on rather than all day. I do think it helps with posture, but there is definitely a period of adjustment as your back gets used to sitting a different way. I think the first couple of times I used it, I only lasted an hour before I had to switch back to a normal chair. Now I can sit on it for 3-4 hours before my bun gets tired. I do feel that my posture overall is better when using the chair, but I have fun finding different ways to use the chair, even if they encourage bad posture. 😄 For now this is a good chair, and only time will tell with how it holds up. 😊

I've had three of the kneeling chairs on Amazon and I sit in them for 20+ hours per week. This one is like a knock off Varier Balans (but I think it actually looks better). item extremely challenging to assemble
aloha, i purchased this item after reading all the descriptions of similar items and reading customer reviews. nothing indicated how difficult this stool is to assemble. i could not do it and finally called a dear friend and neighbor who expertly assemble all kinds of things and it took him about two hours to assemble this stool. it is great once assembled yet i paid friend extra for his kind help so the product wound up costing me considerably more than the purchase price. be aware and be concerned before you purchase. chi pilialoha

Bad assembly instructions, flimsy construction.
Poor directions and markings in pieces. Wooden cross supports have subtle diagonal edges that you have to install facing the correct direction. Never explained in directions nor is the front identified on the pieces. So I had to disassemble it and flip them, then reassemble. Given that you’re using one of those thin hex drivers, it takes forever. Once assembled, the chair wobbles. I weigh 220 lbs, do my weight is not insignificant but not prohibitive either. In addition, it’s just not comfortable. I bought two of these. Unfortunately, because I was out of town on vacation for teo weeks after it arrived, I didn’t get a chance to build them until the end of the 30-day return period. I decided to return them today, the 30th day, do I could not return them.

Takes pressure off lower back
As rated above, I found the chair to be easy to assemble, comfortable and a good value for the money. My primary reason for purchase was to simply relieve pressure from my back and neck when seated for long periods of time and we have accomplished that. I would recommend this chair to anyone seeking this type of product. It was also one of the easiest products to assemble that I've ever purchased online.

Budget prices get you budget furniture
Overall I am enjoying this chair, the novelty hasn’t worn off yet. However the quality control on this product is bottom of the barrel. The major problem I had was a bolt head missing a cutout for the Allen key tool. I took a dremel to the head to make a cut for a flat head screw driver but I’m guessing most customers wouldn’t want to deal with low quality bolts. I also noticed that there was a pretty sloppy interface between the hex head and tool so many bolt heads were prematurely stripping. On top of those issues the finish on the wood was scuffed and discolored despite having lots of foam padding for shipping, looks like it happens at the factory. There were also some wood pegs missing and the assembly document parts list differs from what you get. Foam used in pads is super cheap and not very dense. Once you get it assembled the chair is actually kind of fun and comfortable. I really like the rocking motion. Looks great too, shame the quality is so low, I probably would have paid double to have a higher quality version of this chair.

At first sitting I knew....
this is the chair I've been looking for. I got everything PERFECTLY in the box; no screws missing, no scratches...everything looked pristine and ASSEMBLY WAS AS EASY AS IT GETS. I was done (by myself) in about 20 minutes. It appears that the earlier reviewers who had issue with quality control was taken seriously by the company and they rectified the problem. Thus, I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS ITEM IN TERMS OF QUALITY AND WORTH!
