It works great for a short distance.
I don’t like how short the cable is.

Flimsy piece of crap
Very light weight, probably minimum amount of steel to generate rated pull (without any safety factor). Photo shows gears and pawl made of 3 stacked plates, the unit I received actually only has two stacked plates (another corner cut). The cable jumps the pull and jambs every time I cinch it up close. I removed it and discovered pulley sides are heavily rusted. I should suffice for my use stretching fence without the compound gear.

Looks good
I just purchased this and haven't had a chance to use it yet. But I've used come alongs for years. To address some of the bad comments. A two ton vehicle being pulled from being stuck could need a whole lot more pull than 4 tons. Resistance of ground, gravity, suction from mud etc. When a come along is over worked you should be able to notice it while using it. Rewinding a come along after use is important that it's done under pressure. If you just rachet it up loosely then the next time you use it the cable will get Tangled up. I hook the cable to something and pull on it as I crank it in. Whether it can do 4 tons or not I don't know. It's probably more a rating of the cable than the mechanisms themselves. I can't see this lifting a 2 ton car off the ground. Anyone who claims any come along can, is crazy. But when I see it's overloaded by how it's not spooling correctly I learned the hard way, stop. Move to another angle or use two come alongs and alternate cranking it up between the two. I've ruined a few in my life time and I always see it's not working right. Impatience is what screws it up. Take it off, move it to another spot. When you see problems, repeat.

Absolute junk!
VERY DISAPPOINTED!! My first impression upon opening the box was that this item was made in a Chinese toy factory. It's lightweight and it has several EXTREMELY sharp edges! (don't even THINK about using this if you aren't wearing leather gloves) The spring clips on the hooks are WORTHLESS because each of them bent the first time I connected the hooks to something. Halfway through using it for the first (and ONLY) time one of the nuts came off, causing part of it to come apart. I was hoping it would work well enough to last through the first job, and it did, but barely. If this is what one should expect for $50 then you'd better plan on paying AT LEAST $100 for one!

Excellent Quality and Ease of Use
I had a need for one of these and compared to other vendors this was priced really well. So far this wench has been great and handled the long spans of self supporting messenger and strands with ease. Great purchase and will definitely purchase more as needs arise.

Looks good!
I've only unboxes this product and inspected it. Looks good, seems functional. Bought it because the old one I had seems to have disappeared. Bought it because some logs I cut in the mill need manhandling and I'm a little old to do it without assistance. So, one of these days I'll be actually testing it out, but I'm impressed with the functionality.
