Your Body (Usborne Beginners, Level 2)

My son, age 3, received this book from his awesome Grandmother after I mentioned he was asking a lot of questions about how our bodies work. The illustrations are interesting without being overly cutesy. There are also real life images that are not gory but do show actual scans of the body. The text balances just the right amount of information without being overwhelming but still remaining scientific. I love reading this book with my son. It compels many interesting questions and observations. My son loves it so much, he chose it as the book he wanted to donate to his preschool class this year. Highly recommend.

I homeschool my children (ages 5, 5 & 8) and was using a curriculum that covered the anatomy of the human body for about 1-2 weeks. My daughters were enjoying the topic so much that I started looking for other ways to further explore the topic. I had used Usborne books for other topics and really love the simplicity of the writing and the illustrations included in the books. This book did not disappoint and I am so happy that I made the purchase.

My youngest daughter has just started homeschooling and because her older sister is in high school just starting to learn anatomy and I am a massage therapist myself, and she spends most of her day at my office she has an incredible interest in anatomy. This book is a great way to get her started, easy to understand and kept her interested.

My 3 year old loved this book, but we lost it. Just bought it again (it's that good) and it's still a favorite. It's a great book for little ones about the inner workings of the body. Not too detailed, not "gross", totally age appropriate and full of fun facts.

Usborne publishes some of the most comprehensive and beautiful non-fiction books for kids. We have an entire set of them, we give them as gifts and donate them to schools. There are really no better books for the money.

Love the details in the book. All Usborne books I get I've been pleased with. This has details children understand.

Such a great book! Creative and fun way to learn about the body.

Last night I read Your Body to my five-year-old, and the book totally held my daughter's attention. This small book is geared for young readers (ages 6-8), but it is packed with tons of information that readers of all ages can benefit from. I was reminded of numerous amazing facts. Some examples include how we are born with approximately 300 bones, that we possess about 60 facial muscles, and that 50,000 tiny flakes of skin fall off our bodies every minute. The pictures in Your Body are extremely colorful. Some pictures are actual body shots while others are done in a very fun cartoon format. A glossary of body words is provided as well as websites to visit. We checked out the Usborne Quicklinks Website and recommend it as well.

からだの仕組みを解説する本って、残念ながら、グロかったり、妙に力が入りすぎていたりするのだけど、これはすばらしく綺麗な色合いと、MRIや顕微鏡写真なんかをとても綺麗に合わせて、なにやら楽しげな感じ。日本の本には無いセンスで、これがこの値段とは驚きです。キッズ向き英語で、専門用語もわかりやすく解説；ligament 靭帯 だけど説明を読むと理解できる；なので、体のことが知りたい（＆同時に英語も覚えちゃう）お友達には最適。とにかく、この絵のセンスが秀逸！！

An excellent educational book for children. Also available in French: an excellent tool for people who are learning French! On the recommendation in Professor Paradox's review: "I think it's really important that books like this are accurate, and that they grab a child's interest, by being funny and entertaining. This book manages both - entertaining and educational for children." I bought a copy of this book in English for my grandchildren, and they love it. I am studying French again after an interval of more than forty years, and I find it very useful to read books on familiar subjects in French, particularly if they are illustrated, as are many children's books, as one can generally pick up the sense of the text without needing to know all the vocabulary beforehand. I therefore bought a copy of 'Le corps humain' and others, including cookery books, in French for myself, and they are proving to be very useful and fun learning tools!
