Phantom Keystroker V2 - Time Delay Dial, Caps Lock, Keyboard, and Mouse Switches - High-Tech Office-Based Prank Device

This worked like a charm! For the first victim, I only set the device to move the mouse, and not very often. It was great... he was keeping a list of the times that the mouse moved, and trying to figure out what "malware" was doing it. Of course, since this is a hardware device, there was no malware to detect. I eventually let him in on the gag. For the second victim, who was one of those I'm-better-than-everyone programmers, I put it on all three annoyances. It was the random text that got him -- he kept yelling for people to stop "remoting into his session." After a few hours and several reboots, he finally found it. The third victim, who really knew his stuff, pulled up a list of device drivers and identified the device in 15 minutes. Only two suggestions: 1. Expect that you may lose the device. In my case, Victim #2 kept it, but then used it on someone else, so I was able to retrieve it. 2. If you can get your hands on a USB extension cord, use it. It's much more difficult to locate if the victim only sees a bunch of USB cables going into the back of his/her PC.

This thing is hilarious! It does require that you insert it ahead of time for the initial installation (it appears to the OS as a keyboard/mouse) and it does not activate until plugging it in the second time. I tested it on Windows 7 and Ubuntu and it should work on any OS as it emulates a USB keyboard and mouse. I just opened notepad and sat and laughed. When pranking be careful - be really sure the person can take a joke and that they are capable of understanding the technology.

Opened the box and discovered this common looking usb drive that is packed with hours of giggling fun. I tried it on my laptop 1st to see what my victims would be in for but it did take a few tries installing it for it to actually be functional. I work at a bank, so I have dozens of potential targets, but the same thing happened at each computer I tried installing the keylogger to. Most took about three times trying to install to function properly. After that, it worked like a dream tormenting my victims every time I pushed it into the unlucky schmuck's usb slot for the day. Do test the delay so you could not make the prank too obvious. I had two coworkers so paranoid to the point that they refuse to work on or even touch certain computers . Soo funny, I still haven't told them it had been me this whole time. I just listen and laugh when they try and explain that the computer is talking to them. This device is well worth the money.

I am currently just a week past having started using this on a co-worker. It started with a simple test of placing this into his computer, with all settings enabled and the timer set towards the middle. At first I only heard a couple of "what the hecks", and then it escalated. As this device started to (randomly) type statements that made it appear as if the computer was actually talking to him. While this was very much coincidence, it couldn't have been any better. At this point he has replaced his keyboard 3 times, ran multiple scans for viruses, malware, etc. Little does he know that I only left it plugged in the first time for about 2 hours. Today, it has been plugged back in but with a USB extender cable and then hidden inside of the case with other cables as to make it more discrete. At present he is leaving a Word document open and is actively asking it questions, e.g. "Who are you?" & "What do you want". I honestly have to keep leaving the room so as to not pee myself laughing. But, this definitely is all determined by the person you are targeting and how well you can hide the device. Overall, great purchase and worth every penny.

Product of seemingly decent quality. In quick test run it was noted that "random mouse" function, like others have noted, is not random at all. It is the exact same movement repeated - which to me lessens the gag effect. Additionally, the mouse function worked regardless of position switch was in. I wanted it off as it is not very convincing. Try as I could, the capslock toggle would not work. The random text worked as advertised, however unless the delay is cranked up the joke will be over in no time. It would also be much more convincing if characters appeared as if being "typed" by someone, versus instantly appearing. In all, this could be a great gag - but poor execution makes it FAR overpriced. Planning to return.
