The BEST matte moisturizer!
I have probably tried over 20 moisturizers for my shine prone oily/combination skin. All the popular stuff like La Roche posay Matt, Clinique gel, neutrogena hydroboost. Even k beauty ones( those are especially dewy even if formulated for oily skin in my experience. This is AMAZING. It’s a lightweight texture that feels really good going on and then kind of like nothing. Except you feel moisturized just without the stickiness or extra shine. It’s a bit similar to fab oil control but works much better in the humidity and heat. Highly recommend, please never stop making this! The only thing is I wish it didn’t have salicylic acid as I use other actives as well. But it’s not irritating or drying. Just does exactly what it says - moisturize without extra shine, just a very soft healthy look.

Finally found THE ONE
I have tried at least 5 other moisturizers for my oily/combination skin. High ticket items like La Roche posay, mid-range like neutrogena, and low-end brands. This one is lightweight texture that feels really good going on and absorbs quick. Except you feel moisturized without stickiness or extra shine; not irritating or drying. Just does exactly what it says - moisturize without extra shine, very soft healthy look.

Removes shine, for a bit, smells odd (earthy), and does seem to moisturize.
I haven't found a moisturizer or application to date that removes shine for any extended period of time. This one included, it does reduce the shine when applied liberally, but doesn't seem to last. I use it on my high forehead just below my hairline, so it's easy to tell if it's working or not. The scent, like many others, leaves much to be desired. It's rather earthy, if not downright stale. However, that's when I first put it on. I don't see it lingering long, but it does have that stale scent. It doesn't interfere with my cologne, so for shine removal, I could put up with that if the shine would hold off a lot longer. I don't know if my expectations are unreasonable, but I feel that I get about 15 min to an hour without exceptional shine. It helps and is better than no assistance, I just want longer results. It's non-drying to my skin, and I'm sure re-applying it could help, but I'm not prone to carry any makeup or moisturizers with me while working. I still like this one better than the few others I've tried, so I'm not dissatisfied either. I still use it. Will I buy it again? I'll probably try something else first to see if another brand is better. But if this is the best there is, then I'll stick with it. Else, we'll see. Still, I think it's a good product.

Perfect!
I don't know where this little gem of a product has been hiding all my life, but as someone who has oily skin I have always been on the prowl for a product that'll control the oil and leave my skin feeling moisturized yet MATTE. It may have taken me 30 plus years but I found that product due in part to a great sale Amazon was having and after having the item in my shopping list for months I decided to just give it a try. I was shocked when it actually worked. Now, let me clear the air here because we all know that those of us who have oily skin are never going to see a product that is going to perfectly put out the shine long-wear from dawn to dusk. Most products on the market will in fact work, but if you're like me, you find an hour later, maybe a little more that you're blotting your face with paper towels from the restroom - you know those super cheap, stiff yet insanely absorbent kind of packet towels. My oily fellows out there will remember those days in school before blotting sheets or having the smarts to just buy perm rolling papers and get about 5,000 times the amount of the name brand in only a quarter of the cost. Anyway (and yes I'm feeling chatty today so you're welcome 😉) this product is great! I particularly like the smell and don't understand the reviews on here complaining about the smell. To me, It smells sweet yet natural and has a light yet intense in-the-beginning perk to it that for some reason I enjoy. I guess that's lucky for me. I use this product everyday, usually twice a day or also before going out I'll have a quick reapply and apply to my face and my scalp. I shave my head and happen to like the look, but I hate the shiny chrome dome syndrome and while there's plenty of men's products on the shelf to supposedly stop the shine, they don't work. This is where personal care blurs the line to cosmetics and their desperate need in "men's products." This moisturizer is very lightweight and absorbs quickly and easily. It has the consistency of a gel that's thick yet applies smooth and even. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated but not heavy. Directly after application I have a very matte complexion. I've tested the length of time for my own personal results and I probably get three to four hours of 'no shine-no worry' skin care. For me that's a lot of progress so I'm happy with those results, especially because I live in Florida and anyone who lives in Florida or who has been to Florida knows that it is so humid and hot you can drown on your way to the mailbox. So with this humidity there's sweating then mixed with excess sebum production which equals out into disaster, especially if you're going to be wearing makeup on top of it. Formula 10. 0. 6. Is the all-in-one product I've been looking for that for me acts as moisturizer, after shave balm and shine killing victor of the Make me Matte challenge. Does it last all day? No it does not. Did I expect it to last all day? No. I hoped but I did not expect it to and for anyone out there, male or female, who thinks a once daily applied skincare product is going to last 16 to 18 hours with sporting a shine-free forehead is experimenting with substances I call to question. Like makeup, a moisturizer of this caliber that's sought after for these specific results needs to be reapplied and even the label recommends doing so if necessary. Personally, I don't mind the need to reapply and enjoy the way it makes my skin feel. This is definitely one product I'm keeping full stock in my arsenal and that I have to say I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Not Bad, but not quite there yet
(young male)I have been using this product for about a week now, and I thought I would give an honest review on the effectiveness of the product. First off, I have VERY oily skin. My large pores love pumping out oil and all the medications under the sun haven't really worked for me. Looking at the reviews of this product (from amazon and other sites) it seemed like a mix bag of reviews. In the end, I thought I would try it because regardless if it didn't remove shine, it was said to be a good moisturizer. At the price, you can try it without wasting to much time/money. Anyway, I put this on my face after my shower each morning and instantly I noticed a more matte like look to my face. Unfortunately, this was short lived. After an hour or two I can see some of the oil shine through. Although it is not as "intense" as it was before. I have yet to find a good mattifying lotion. The closest I got to was OC 8 (not quite a lotion but a mattifying gel). It worked alright but it caused me to break out. Whats really nice about this moisturizer is that it's oil free and it does not clog your pores. It's very hard to find something that says it's oil free and clog free and means it. So with that, it's a pretty good moisturizer. It has not caused me to break out at all (or no more than usual). With my stubborn sensitive skin, that is saying a lot. I don't know what the reviews are saying about the smell. It is pretty odorless to me. Anyway, it didn't work as well as I'd like in terms of matting my skin, but a good moisturizer none the less. Finally, let me just say that my skin is very troublesome and very oily. I have yet to find another person that has oilier or just as oily skin as me. So this product not working isn't much a surprise, but more of a... expectation? Anyway, I hope this review helps.

A top-tier product that does what it says: moisturizes without making you shine like a mirror
I bought this to replace the Lab Series anti-shine that seems to either have been discontinued or no longer carried on Amazon. It's much cheaper for the quantity versus the old Lab Series, and slightly lighter in how it feels. There's also a slight aloe scent to it, or something like aloe. It isn't pungent though and so far nobody has told me they smell it or anything. Despite being slightly lighter in consistency though, it does still feel a bit "heavy" for lack of a better term, and not as moisturizing in the long run. It gives a bit of a dry feel which may be an effect of the ingredients that make it matte/anti-shine. Putting on a very light amount of your regular moisturizer before this seems to help. I'm not sure if it's that I haven't used the Lab Series in a long time, but this might last just slightly shorter on average (depending on your skin and your environment too). It might be that I'm hanging out in more humid places, who knows. But all around, a great product.

Another disappointment, smells musty, just No! Waste of $
Honestly, I cannot believe this product has so many good reviews. See review photo for other products that I've tried that work far better. I will not buy this again. Pros/Cons are based on anti-shine performance alone, not price or use with makeup. SSF pros: goes on smooth and light, finishes clear SSF cons: smells musty (really dont like the smell), DOES NOT PERFORM AS EXPECTED! Did next to nothing for me when it comes to mattifying my shiny forhead. See review image: Other products I've used: BPP mask pros: smells amazing! Skin feels nice after, fun to use BPP mask cons: none except that since it's more of a hygiene product, the results only last so long. C&C pros: none C&C cons: goes on like wet chalk and inconsistent, makes you look pale(sick, ill) NYXSP pros: none NYXSP cons: too thin to color-correct any redness, basically like smearing green water on your face. G5secBlur pros: great silky texture and thickness, the light pink color works great for Caucasian skin or anyone with pink undertones, IT REALLY WORKS!!! I use this all the time without makeup. Great for people with big pores. G5secBlur cons: none WINNER BY FAR FOR ANTI-SHINE! Maybelline BABY SKIN! Pros: goes on silky and good thickness, instantly decreases shine Cons: too small package so doesn't last long.

Can’t live without.
I have very oily acne prone skin. I have used this product (I first found it on amazon and now I mostly buy it at Ulta Beauty because they have better deals and prices) for about 3-4 years. One tube lasts me more than a month and I use a good amount every morning. This is the only thing I’ve found to matte my skin!! It works great. There’s a slight white powder on the surface of your skin when it dries, so like it can get on your shirt if you pull it on and it rubs your face. But it rubs out of material quick. Just be sure to thoroughly rub it into your skin or else you might have a white streak. I have worn this under makeup when my acne was really bad and I washed my face, put on this moisturizer, then liquid concealer, then power, then any highlighter and blush. It’s a great foundation for makeup. Just let it dry fully before makeup (takes no more than a minute). I’ve now been makeup free for 2+ years so I wash my face and then put on a hyloronic moisturizer to moisturize my dry and eczema prone skin and then I put this moisturizer on top and that’s it! It keeps my face so matte and really calms down my skin. Now I almost never have any breakouts.
