Using it regularly. My OB Cichlid and Electric Yellow Cichlid are getting intense colouration, though no change to my Dolphin Cichlids. I am using colour enhancing foods too. Can't say which is providing actual benefit.

Used this in a 120L African cichlid tank alongside Lake Salt and buffer—adds trace minerals like iron, iodine, and magnesium that get stripped out by filtration. Fish showed better colour and activity after a few weeks of consistent dosing. No smell, no clouding, and no impact on pH. I’ve used it during water changes and after heavy feeding weeks—helps stabilise fish health and supports immune function. Ideal for Lake Malawi, Tanganyika, and Victoria setups where mineral content matters. 🔍 Specs & Features Size: 250ml bottle Type: Liquid trace mineral supplement Use: Freshwater African cichlid tanks Function: Replaces essential trace elements lost to filtration Compatibility: Safe for all African cichlids—use with Lake Salt and buffer for full effect Application: Dose weekly or during water changes—follow label chart 🧪 Performance Water Clarity: No clouding or residue Fish Health: Supports colour, energy, and immune response Ease of Use: Simple dosing—no mixing or prep Smell: Neutral—no chemical stink 👍 Pros ✅ Adds key trace elements—supports long-term health ✅ Works with other Seachem products ✅ No impact on pH or filtration ✅ Safe for all freshwater cichlids ✅ Easy dosing—clear instructions 👎 Cons ❌ Not a standalone—best used with Lake Salt and buffer ❌ No visible effect overnight—works gradually ❌ Manual dosing—no pump or cap measure ❌ Doesn’t replace full mineral salts—supplements only 🧭 Personal Verdict If you’re running African cichlids and want to keep mineral levels dialled in for colour, health, and energy, Seachem Cichlid Trace earns its spot. I’ve used it across setups and water changes—no drama, just clean results and happy fish. Proper stash-ready gear for anyone who wants their tank chemistry sorted without the guesswork.

This seems to be really good for my Malawi Cichlids. The color of my fish seems to be a lot better then what it used to be. This product can stain (I think it has iodine in it) so watch out on where you let it drip. It leaked a bit under my cabinet and turned some papers a rust color. Not a big deal--just a FTI. Also, after you open the bottle and it is exposed to air, the inside of the cap has an insert that will turn almost black. Don't worry--this is a normal reaction.
