I can't write too much about this as it was a stocking stuffer for a family member who has been playing for years now. He liked it and said it worked great.

I like using slides and hammer-on techniques on my acoustic. Fast Fret lets me do that without the annoying string-rubbing noise. Pull-offs and hammer-ons lift cleanly and quietly. Fast Fret is quick and easy to use. It comes with an applicator and a cloth that wipes dirt off the strings. I run it from the nut to the bridge for a smooth, consistent feel.

I wipe my strings down with this stuff after playing and it extends the strong life. It lubes the strings just a bit to help with glissandos but does not feel greasy. I've been using this stuff for 30 years (back when the container was metal) and it's great. I tried the D'Addario version and was not impressed.

I bought my first can of Fast Fret over 30 years at the recommendation of my guitar teacher. Back then, the can was tin and the handle was wooden. Things have changed—the can is feather-light plastic and the handle a thicker sort that could never wear out from normal use. I’m not sure what the applicator is soaked in—some sort of mineral oil, I suppose—but it stays dry and cleans the string. A lint-free cloth is included to wipe away any excess. Safe for all stringed instruments.

A friend of mine suggested that I try this, honestly at first I was a bit incredulous... sort of seemed like one of those gimmicky things, ya know? So this guy generally knows what he's talking about, so what the heck? I bought some, and I'm glad I did! This stuff works wonders for your strings! It seems to protect them somewhat and remove the grime that accumulates as strings get older. It also slickens up the entire playing area, but not so much that you lose your tactile sense as you're playing. Not a huge effect, to me at least, but a nice effect to say the least, well worth the few bucks. It's cheap, easy to apply, and keeps your strings, nut, and fret board clean and conditioned. I would give it 5 stars, but as other reviews have noted, the cloth that comes with it tends to snag on things and leave artifacts all over your guitar, and that's a bit a pain. I can't see that being that hard to address, but what do I know?! At any rate, well worth a shot IMHO, this is one of those rare things that seems to actually be cheap AND useful, and we could all use more of that, right?

Best product there is for shredders.

My dad had an old bottle of this for many years, until I decided to get a new one. They have improved on their methods since the early 2000's, the grip of the handle is a bit strange, but you get used to it. The ease of application is also incredibly useful too. It helps to shred faster, or to even just maintain the guitar's beautiful shine.

An essential product for any guitarist. Keeps strings clean and free of muck. Also conditions the fret board. Clean after every use and your strings will last longer than you ever expect.
