IWC Schaffhausen: Engineering Time Since 1868

Just picked it up for $124 used on Amazon but it in mint/like new condition. It's very heavy book but of very high quality construction and high quality paper. Has 2 built in page holder lanyards. The edges of pages have a silver finish. Great pictures and a section/mini book of 5 stories tying IWC. Just skimmed through it so far but I see it's very comprehensive and I know I will read everypage. Covers all their major models in seperate chapters and their is a section in the back listing all calibers. I own a IWC Portuguese and just wanted this book. Recieved it as a gift from my wife for our anniversary. I would not pay full price (around $185) but its really wonderfull, by far the most expensive book I bought, but it's a comprehensive history of IWC and the perfect gift for a watch nut. I saw this book in the IWC boutique on Rodeo Drive a couple of years back and I know Panerai has put out something similiar. I think it will go up in value over the years. It's one of those things that you know is kind of a waste of $ but you should treat yourself to, and you can always resell it when your done with it.

I found this book sold in a IWC boutique but I chose to buy it from Amazon because it is substantially better value for money. Given the same good quality of the book found in the boutique and here, the price difference justifies my decision to buy it online. This is a very comprehensive coffee-table book that bring you back to the early founding years of this remarkable watch company. Good pictures and definitely a must for the IWC or for that matter, any watch aficionados. One point to add: I bought this book from Amazon in May 2001 USD 157 but it has since increased to USD 226.

A very beautiful book with high quality photography and paper that is perfect as a presentation coffee table book. Unfortunately this book is in German with no English translation, which is why I had to return it. Im not sure why the other reviews of this book are from English speakers, which is why I assumed it was in English. The seller was excellent and return transaction was smooth.

If you're a WIS, this is a great book about a great company if there is still room on your coffee table or bookcase. Typical high quality paper, photos and binding. Heck, with all we spend on the watches, this just a small add-on for the collection.

Great book! Essentially 3 books in one. First section is a great history of the company. The second section is the real gem. Short stories based on the different collections. Each short is beautifully illustrated and adds a bit of whimsical character to the company. The third second is basically just a comprehensive overview of the current (at time of publication) collections. IMHO this doesn't add much to the book, but is nice to have. Overall wonderful book

Le livre est énorme , très ( trop ) lourd et vraiment très luxueux . C'est un objet très impressionnant . L'ouvrage est clairement patronné par IWC . C'est un livre d'entreprise . Un régal pour les amateurs de montres de cette manufacture , cependant , compte tenu des textes , documentés , et des nombreuses photos , toujours de grande qualité . Je l'ai acheté car son tarif ( excessif) n'est pas grand chose , finalement , au vu du prix ( excessif ) d'une belle IWC actuelle ... L'encart avec des textes de Coelho et des dessins de Bilal me semble hors sujet : il occupe inutilement des dizaines de pages et aurait pu être supprimé aisément , au profit de détails supplémentaires sur les montres .

My wife bought this book for me for my birthday. Looking at the cover one think this is going to be in English. Sadly not; all in German!
