Needed this for a project truck. I had spark and fuel but it just wouldn’t run. This handy little gem found my issue. The coil was weak. Truck runs and drives now.

So I'm in the market for a spark tester. I was tired of using the spark plug screwdriver method so I wanted to spend money on a real tester. Everyone told me to buy an HEI tester as it was supposedly the best.....but I decided to look at all the offerings and found this to be perhaps better. After using it on a distributor based van, I like it. It worked great and showed a great spark.

Hooked up to the end of a plug wire, connected the ground, and discovered I was losing spark to two misfiring cylinders after unloading the parts cannon at everything else. Quick and easy testing with this. Would buy again.

Good for testing spark. Helped me diagnose a bad coil. I recommend this product to anyone.

Proved that coil was weak. Compared to other chain saw, I could increase the gap a sizable amount. Something like 3/8 - 1/2" but when I used on suspect saw I could not get past 1/8". I wouldn't call it a well crafted tool thought. Part that threads in has a lot of play. Think you could buy a cheaper one and get the same thing.
