Great for classroom use!
I purchased this to attach iPad as document camera. I had used Pinterest to scope out ideas to build one using pvc, but finally decided to buy this. I did not purchase new but used. It arrived in excellent condition. The only thing which appeared used in box was assembly manual. I found it easy to assemble and use. I can screen mirror my iPad to smart screen and use any book or worksheet for instruction. It also allows me to elevate iPad so I can stand without bending over or holding iPad for other uses. Despite other reviews, mine does not wobble on table and is sturdy. I found it light weight enough for easy portability also. For someone who has taught with the old overheads and newer Elmos, this is a notch above. Very pleased.

Great Product but doesn't fit our needs
The Document Camera Stand would be great if it was stationary. We were looking fore a portable solution and thought it might work, but the employees who tried it said it was too heavy to pack around and a lot of the images they took were blurry because it wiggled as they set it up on different counters and spaces. I do think if someone mounted it to a table it would work superbly.

Pushing my buttons
The buttons on the post are difficult to press in to raise or lower the post. It took two of us to get the post to lower. I do like the ease of putting the camera stand together and the sturdiness of it.

Great product!
I had one of these in a previous classroom. When I moved out of state, I knew I needed another one. Such a wonderful way to turn my iPad into a document camera! Love it

SAVE YOUR $ FOR A REAL DESKTOP IPHONE OR IPAD BY A MONOPOD PHOTOGRAPHY COMPANY
SAVE YOUR $ FOR A REAL DESKTOP IPHONE OR IPAD BY A MONOPOD PHOTOGRAPHY COMPANY I purchased this for a mobile iPhone stand to shoot product photography videos for Amazon and YouTube. When I first looked at the design, I thought this would be perfect because I've seen other systems with great success in theory; we've heard from other reviewers that there needs to be more clarity and execution. 80% of people have said in reviews that it does not work correctly or that the quality of the product from a building perspective could be much better. PROS The horseshoe design acts as a counterweight & longer screws are used for construction. Take your time and read the instructions; ask yourself the final point or goal you accomplish with the stand, whether with an iPhone or an iPad. Although the overall construction is solid, the execution of using your Phone or iPad or the lack of stability is the primary frustration with design. iPhone at the end; it's not entirely centered, forcing you to take a creative approach to center shooting a video, or it won't look right for your final product. I've scratched my head several times trying to make this work; I have been a professional photographer for ten years, working with jigs, tripods, and everything else you can imagine with shooting 180° straight down, which is my preferred method. The biggest failure is the lack of stability in the iPad stand. If you're shooting any video, it will appear on the screen as soon as you suddenly move. The main bar hanging over the horseshoe must be 5 to 10 inches longer. This is because if you raise the iPad to the highest point, you will see the crossbar going down in your pictures or videos. Once I put the iPhone in a very creative way, I utilized the rubber band; it wouldn't hold correctly, and it was not straight. I cut out the whole they have for the iPad camera with a multitool because, on an iPhone 15 Pro, the bar blocks the camera to a point. You will see the black outline if your iPhone is not entirely positioned in the center. I even took this apart; stripping out the green bracket for the iPhone and hanging the Phone over horizontally did not work. Other people have said the same thing when it sounds good in theory: execution is an epic fail. The overall construction of the materials used is excellent because it's heavy. The horseshoe is the exact design you want for an iPad hanging over, considering how heavy your iPad will be. As far as using it as an iPad stand, as you see with the kids in the picture, that will not work because it is unstable enough, and the bolts on the back will move rather quickly. The overall stability of the iPad will create shaking, and with the way kids are careless, you will break an iPad. The last thing you want to do is spend $1200 on a fallout and crack a screen. I became so frustrated with the process that I put this down for a few hours and could not develop a creative solution for my goal. Just to be clear, my goal was to have an iPhone shooting straight down using an external microphone with an adapter for small product reviews for Amazon and YouTube. When I review a product, they earn all their stars, and I've given products on Amazon a 10-star review because everything works from the design phase to execution. I'm giving this two stars because everything that can go wrong did go wrong with attempting to shoot any video or picture with an iPhone. I even used the rubber band included as a base so it would not move. Save your money and do a search on Amazon for photography and desktop shooting or product reviews, and you will have a diversity of products that are at a lower price point and 1000% more effective. I own several of them. It's disappointing when a product can be great, but the execution is an epic fail. I saved the base, 2 bars, and bolts and tossed everything else to create a new system based on other parts I own.

Family Historian's Helper Photo and negative digitizer
It took me a little while to figure out how to take good photos with this, but that was mainly learning to take better photos with my phone. I have only used it a few times but I like the results. I took some photos of an old photograph and they came out great. I put negatives on a light box in the negative holders that came with my scanner, and I was able to photograph them and see the image better. It takes a really long time to scan negatives on a flat bed scanner. This stand will hold the phone steady so I can digitize my old family negatives quickly. It is a bit difficult to get the phone to be completely flat but I am going to get a bulls eye level to put on the phone to capture better images. This stand is not too heavy to take when you visit that relative who won't let their photos leave their home. It is much more practical and quicker than using a scanner.

High quality multipurpose tool!
I had never seen a document camera stand before this Copernicus Dewey Document Camera Stand (stand only) so I did not know what to expect. This product came very well packaged. The instructions were very thorough. All of the hardware was clearly labeled. It was easy to assemble which only took a few minutes. This stand is large - about 15" tall in its lowest setting and 21" tall at its full extended height. It has 4 different height settings. I found it difficult to push in the pins that adjust the height unless I leaned the stand forward before adjusting. The base is 10" wide by 12" in length. It is made of metal yet only weighs 4.6 lbs. I can easily move it around with one hand. It has holes and includes hardware to mount the base to a surface for added stability. We used it on a table and found it to be quite sturdy as is. There are clear labels on the stand itself which guide you through adjusting and using the different parts. You do have to be a little rough with it to swivel and adjust the parts. However, I expect it will loosen up over time. Fingerprints tend to accumulate on this during use so be sure to have a cloth ready if presentation is important. A motivational quote about education on the back of the camera clamp was an appreciated surprise! We tested the clamps using several Android phones and tablets. Most of the phones were plus-sized editions without a phone case (as shown in the photo). Each fits perfectly! It held them securely in every position. You can fasten cords onto the headphone holder to keep them out of the way. I may add a large tray over the base so that the base is not shown when used in the overhead position. I now believe that anyone who routinely uses a cell phone or tablet needs one of these. The adjustable stand and swivel mount make it useful for a wide variety of tasks! Here are just a few ideas of how you could use this product: - digitalize photos, documents, receipts, checks, etc. - create front-facing photos, videos, and live streams at eye level - create overhead photos, videos, and tutorials - attend online meetings (without the awkward angles) - eliminate neck and shoulder strain by elevating devices during extended use - digital story time - watching tutorials - tablet docking station - selfie photo booth - stop motion animation - content creation station
