I have been flying RC helicopters for over 20 years and drones for over 10 years. Recently my original DJI Mavik died after nearly 10 years of faithful service. I went on a quest to find the best drone in the under 249 grams category. I did not want to bother with registering and licensing. This drone fits every category very nicely. Price point, advanced features, quality, flight characteristics and fluidity of controls, ease of use and easy connectivity. I believe anyone would do well with this drone from beginner to advanced. The pictures are high quality as is the video. The only place it falls a little short is the speed of flight. This is definitely not a deal breaker for me as I am not chasing cars or motorcycles. I mainly use it for construction documentation and personal photography. Don't let the price fool you this drone is great in the wind and comes with 3 batteries so you get plenty of flight time. It does not have object avoidance system, which I do not want because I get close to things on purpose. If you are looking for a small travel drone that is packed with features and quality at an affordable price, this one is worth every penny! The pictures below are in standard hi-res mode. The 8k photos are even better, but larger file size.

So fun! I’ve never flown a drone before but had no problem navigating this one. Great quality photos/video. Compared to other drones, it’s also very affordable. One battery lasts 15 or so minutes, which is all I ever need to fly.

Let me start off by saying I am by no means an expert drone pilot. I will say, however, at that the ease of use of this drone, the stability and the quality of the images is outstanding. I took it on a vacation flight. And I got some of the most amazing images of a small town tucked between the mountains in Puerto Rico with amazing sunsets. I can't wait to keep honing my skills and learn all the features. For the price tag, compared to other drones of the same quality. You're not gonna get a better deal. I'd truly like the flight time, which is roughly thirty minutes per battery. I got three with the extended flight package. And it also has a training flight tutorial for people like me with very limited experience. Highly recommend you won'regret it.

Not my first drone but it is the most feature robust, incredible functionality, easy to operate, cant crash it unless you try. I have taken so many beautiful pics and videos. I probably have 100 hours on the drone and never once crashed or had an issue. The app is easy to understand and the drone is so simple to operate. If they come out with a bigger better version I'll buy it too. Have DJI's that are nice but this has become my go-to for photography. Now has waypoint functionality which works perfectly. Good company.

This is a very nice and affordable drone. I bought it because I was not able to obtain a DJI drone for a reasonable price at the time due to the shortage. I am pleasantly surprised with this unit. For the price, you get the extra batteries and multi-charger for the same price as you'd usually pay for just the base drone package with DJI. The controller is pretty decent, and fits my phone easily. You could potentially mount a tablet with some creative use of mounting brackets. Feature and performance wise, I would say this drone compares very closely with the DJI Mini 2.the reason for that is like the Mini 2, this drone only has proximity sensors on the bottom. So unfortunately you don't get collision prevention that many more advanced DJI drones have. This is the only reason I removed a star. Everything else about this drone is great and still for the price I would buy another. The software for the drone is easy to use, and pretty intuitive. Not quite as polished as the DJI app but it doesn't make a huge difference to me and I haven't had any problems with it. Flight performance is great. It might be slightly more sensitive to windy conditions, but I was able to fly in relatively high winds without to much trouble. The video quality is also quite good honestly. It's definitely good enough for cinematic use. Overall for the price I think this drone performs well enough for first time flyers to have a good experience without spending a small fortune. I'm quite satisfied with it.

This Potensic Atom 2 drone is super fun and really easy to fly. The 4K video is awesome—super clear and sharp, whether you’re flying in daylight or at night with decent lighting. I weighed it on my kitchen scale with the batteries, and it’s about 250 grams, even with a few Velcro stickers I stuck on for some nighttime LEDs. I’ve flown this thing in some pretty strong winds, like class 4 or 5, and it held up great. It even gave me motor warnings once, but the video stayed steady when hovering. In heavy winds, the video can get a bit shaky, but this drone does a solid job keeping itself stable. It’s rated for class 5 winds, and I believe it. I flew it a full mile line of sight, and my remote still had three bars of signal—pretty impressive for a small drone. Now, a quick heads-up: always check your airspace. I live near a naval base, and helicopters fly low, like 200 feet above me. The drone’s noise isn’t too bad, and just so you know, it doesn’t record sound with the video. Okay, here’s the good and the bad. Bad news: this drone doesn’t like water. I messed up and got it stuck in a tree, and it fell into a river for like 10 seconds. Good news: it’s flying fine now! I pulled the battery out right away, dried it out for a couple of days on my air purifier set to high, and it was good to go a week later. Sadly, the battery that got wet is toast, but I’d rather lose a $50 battery than a $400 drone. If you ever get it in saltwater, rinse it with fresh water first to avoid corrosion. Overall, this drone is a blast and super easy to use. Watch a few videos to get the hang of the features, check the propeller screws, and do your calibrations. It’s basic stuff, but it keeps things safe. This little drone is small but packs a punch!

I've been flying drones for a couple of years now, and the Potensic Atom 2 has quickly become my favorite for everyday adventures. After 23 flights, I can say the Atom-2 is stable, reliable, and has good video. It's very easy to take off and land manually. Return to Home works very well. The maximum range I've flown is 2-1/2 miles and 360 feet high - no glitches with video or control. If you aren't pointing the antenna toward the drone, the RF signal bars turn red as a good reminder. I had only one problem initially, flying very low over a crop of soybeans (about 5 feet above them, 20 feet away from me) .. I stepped behind a vehicle from the front to the back with the remote, holding it above the roofline .. shortly after that the connection was lost and the drone did the automatic RTH. I was advised by Support not to fly very low, the signal will be better higher up. The stated battery life 20 minutes is about right, in any case it's plenty of time to take video shots while flying over a wide area. I only had one incident of allowing the battery voltage to get too low .. the drone was almost back to my landing spot when it suddenly announced it was 'landing now' and did just that. The video quality is great, I use mostly 25 fps and 1080p in Auto mode. Panning quickly (rotating the drone) produces a jerky-video effect though, so I rotate the drone slowly and rely more on dolly and zoom shots for best quality. The digital zoom feature produces very bad/fuzzy video, I haven't found a good use for it yet. Customer support has been very good, they respond quickly and accurately.
