Excellent
Since receiving I have only tested basic features like scanning for error codes on a Volvo EX30, Fiat 500 and BMW F30 which this performed fine on all 3. It also allowed me to change parameters and code features like disabling stop start. Then out of no where my F30 kept going into limp mode and I used this to attempt to diagnose the issue. Codes were pointing to a fuel pump issue but it was a rather generic code (the fault of BMW not the scanner) but I was then able to monitor the live readings of the HPFP and it was clear that was at fault. Let my garage know and they confirmed it and so saved me a diagnostics charge. A really brilliant tool for those who are repairing cars as a hobby/living.

Very in depth scanner
Item received in good condition in a branded sealed box. There are many budget car scanners on the market these days that plug and play with your car and can help clear some faults etc but this is miles apart and a really tool for the serious car tinker at home or for a professional garage/mechanic to use. The unit itself is like a small ipad in size and design and has just so much information and tool at your disposal is quite amazing. The interface it operates is good and pretty friendly to navigate and helps to provide lots of data and information along with error codes and on a completely different level to the cheap versions on the market. This is really a tool that will pay for itself so quickly in the right trained hands. What I really like is the fact that once you have paid for the unit there are no other hidden charges, all updates for its lifetime are free which is excellent. Build quality of the unit is very good and once you get the hang of the menus and such its very in depth and gives so many options to work with. Its a large outlay but in the right well trained hands this could be a very useful piece of kit.

High quality diagnostic tool
The Thinkcar ThinkScan 689 a must have tool for car enthusiasts and professionals alike. Its advanced functionality picks up issues cheaper scanners miss, such as detecting a glow plug problem in my Peugeot - The bidirectional capability allows you to perform active tests and send commands to vehicle systems. - With WiFi for effortless updates, an inbuilt Chrome browser for instant fault research, and the ability to email reports directly from the unit, it's a real time-saver. - The touchscreen is responsive, the VIN scan works flawlessly, and the battery life is excellent. - Overall, a top-quality tool with a robust build, steering wheel hanger, and a protective case for storage and transport. Lifetime updates included, making it a worthy investment for any car tinkerer.

Good fault finder
Really brilliant diagnostic kit. East to plug and play. Options to identify car make and model. Brought up old cleared faults as well as new faults linked to the engine management light that annoyingly appeared on our Mercedes. Worked out quickly what it was linked to, save a very expensive garage trip. I havent had much comparison to alternative products but I was very pleased at the user friendly interface and the design and build of the device itself. Comes in a nice carry case too

Professional-Grade Bidirectional OBD2 Scanner with Outstanding Features
The Thinkcar ThinkScan 689 is clearly designed with professional auto mechanics and repair shops in mind, but it can also be a fantastic tool for serious DIY mechanics who have the knowledge to use its wide range of functions. For the average non-specialist user, much of the advanced functionality would likely go unused, but for those with the skills to utilise it, this scanner is an incredibly powerful piece of kit. What sets it apart from budget scanners is the sheer amount of information it provides. It picked up a glow plug issue on my 2017 BMW X6 that cheaper scanners had completely missed(something only ista reported). The bidirectional capability is a real game changer, allowing you to not only read data but also perform active tests and send commands to vehicle systems. The WiFi makes software updates effortless, and the ability to email reports directly from the scanner is a huge time-saver. The inbuilt Chrome browser is another handy addition, letting you quickly search for additional fault code details without needing a separate device. The VIN scan worked flawlessly every time, and the touchscreen is responsive and fluid. Practical touches include a robust design with impact protection, a hanger for the steering wheel, and a well-designed case that keeps the unit, charging cable and documents safe. Battery life is excellent, with convenient USB-C charging. Add to that lifetime free updates, and it’s a tool that will keep delivering long-term value. Pros Targeted at professionals but suitable for knowledgeable DIY mechanics WiFi makes updates quick and easy Can email reports directly from the unit Inbuilt Chrome browser for instant fault research Much more detail than budget scanners Detected faults cheaper scanners missed (e.g. BMW X6 glow plug issue) Bidirectional functionality is a real game changer Excellent battery life with USB-C charging Lifetime updates included Robust build with impact protection and steering wheel hanger Protective case for storage and transport VIN scan worked with 100% success Smooth, responsive touch screen Cons None

Klare Kaufempfehlung👍👍👍👍👍

Does everything that I was hoping for. The bidirectional tools are great I was able test a module and figure out the problem with ease. Comparable to my buddy’s Autel, and I don’t have to pay for updates. It’s so easy to use. It’s a great tool at a great price.

Awesome scanner that has lots of functions and works great! The cord is kind of short so I would definitely recommend the Bluetooth model but the compatibility and features this has is very useful!
