Complete trailer brake kit
The Tiedown 82405 brake kit went on my 2005 EZ loader torsion spring axle boat trailer fairly easily. The trailer had never had brakes installed so having a complete kit was helpful. Also having the rear seal and bearings already greased and installed in the hub was helpful. I had to drill new holes in the tongue for the new coupler. AIso I did have to grind the edge of the metal away on the axle swing arm end a little to make more clearance for the brake line brass fitting into the caliper. I already had a round trailer wire connecter so the selenoid wire hooked right up the center post and had power from my truck reverse lights. Bleeding the brakes was simple with a screw driver in the Dexter surge coupler and a helper at the bleed screw, but I evidently overfilled it and had a alot of brake fluid seeping out of it afterwards for awhile. The instructions were helpful since I had only installed a kit like this one other time years ago. All the parts were included although the heavy box was severely damaged and retaped during shipping.

Surge kit
The kit had everything you needed except hardware to attach coupler. It was straightforward for my installation. I did have a problem when installing a brake caliper bolt, it stripped out. Amazon was great sent me a whole new kit to get the parts I needed. The manufacturer was not much help when I called them. Amazon saved the day!

Great product, but...I had to ask for a refund.
I decided to add brakes to my ECHO UTV trailer to help slow down when towing it loaded with my Polaris RZR behind my Jeep Grand Cherokee. When loaded with the RZR, extra gas and all my gear the trailer weights a little over 2,500 lbs so adding trailer brakes made sense to me. I did a lot of research on different types of trailer braking systems and decided on hydraulic surge disc brakes because the entire installation would be permanently mounted on the trailer - no need for separate brake controller in the tow vehicle. I compared several manufactures and felt that Tie Down would give me the best value and delivery time. The disc brake kit arrived in good condition - no crunched boxes or damaged or missing pieces. I was very impressed with the quality of the parts. So, let's get these puppies installed. 1) Remove the wheels and tires and the free floating hubs on the trailer. 2) Bolt the caliper mounting brackets to the four bolt flanges on the Dexter trailer axle. So good, so far. 3) Install the calipers on the mounting brackets using the slider pins. BOOM! Big problem. The calipers would not mount to the brackets due to lack of clearance between the back of the caliper and the trailer frame. I tried rotating the calipers to the 9 o'clock, 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions. No luck. There just wasn't enough room between the trailer axle, mounting bracket, caliper and frame. Without doing a lot of modifications to the trailer bed/frame and maybe the axle I didn't see any way that I could install the disc brake kit. In all my research on this project I never came across a way or a suggestion to measure that area for clearance. It probably would have eliminated this boondoggle. I purchased the disc brake kit through Amazon so I request a return and refund. I had to pay the return shipping to send them back and it took 14 days to get a refund. Overall, I'm disappointed that they did not fit but I'm not blaming any one for that. From initial order to refund, the entire process went smoothly. The disc brake kit is of very good quality and I wish I could have used it. I can't give a poor rating on this because it wasn't poor quality or service. I just hope that someone that is considering a DIY trailer disc brake kit install will know that they need to take a few more measurement and ask a few more questions about fitment.

Very happy with this add on break system.
Very happy with this add on break system. Very easy to install on my ez loader boat trailer, didn't have brakes on the trailer as of new. Using in salt water so I do wash off the brakes after every use. Holding up very well so far.

Great replacement
Great kit to replace the entire boat trailer disc brake system. Also great to convert old drum systems to disc brakes.

Parts missing and little help from Tiedown Engineering
The kit itself is great but as others have said it was missing two of the pins that hold the calipers in place making it virtually useless. I originally contacted Tiedown Engineering figuring it would be easier and cheaper to have them just send me the pins directly...not so. I spoke to them July 16th and they agreed to send the pins out to me as they had reports of them missing from the kits. They finally sent them July 22 and provided a tracking number. On Aug. 5 I inquired as I hadn't received them and was informed an error was made in the paperwork and they were returned back to them but would be reshipped. Well, as of today, Aug. 17 (33 days) I still have not received the pins from Tiedown. On the other hand, Amazon was extremely helpful and ended up sending me out and entire replacement kit (67lbs, at their expense) in order to get the pins so I could use my trailer. This however created the hassle of having to return a rather heavy package and the paperwork that goes along with it. I was at the point of just getting the pins locally so I could use the trailer but was unable to source them anywhere in Ontario.

Missing pins
Missing same pins as everyone else in reviews stated. I don’t know why the company can’t fix the bill of materials and include the required pins. Luckily for me the old brakes were same so I reused old pins. Otherwise this is a Good kit, and easy to install, works great so far. Would be 5 stars except for missing parts.

Very much like OEM design.
Replaced a rusted out system on my boat trailer with these. Worked great. No problems at all. Buy with confidence.

Did a complete rebuild of my boats tandem trailer. Fast and easy. All needed parts were there right down to the hose clamps and tie wraps to make it pretty. Hardest part were getting a few of the old rusted bolts off. Was done so quick I then refurbed my old discs and added them onto to the back wheels, with a second hose kit, now hauling and stopping my boat (6200 lbs) is no problem.
