The first fully baked eInk smartphone
Is it perfect? No. But if you have spent any time in the eInk space you know how few devices could truly replace your smartphone for day-to-day use, and this one is for sure at the top of that category. I've learned over time that I simply cannot function day-to-day with a regular smartphone stealing my attention every hour of the day. The B&W eink panel simply does not trigger the same dopamine responses that OLED / LED displays do. I will continue to use phone like this for as long as they keep producing them. On the pros, the B&W eInk panel is simply gorgeous in day-to-day usage. It is always shocking trying to look at an iPhone screen outside in the sunlight when you are used to how good this looks. The software optimizations make the eInk screen world superbly for regular smart phone tasks. I never feel hindered or limited in what I can do with the phone whether it be sending a venmo payment, getting directions, calling an uber, performing financial transactions, even joining teams meetings or messaging on slack. Make no mistake, this is a fully fledged Android smartphone. As far as cons: major issues I run into are I frequently have to reboot phone to get google play services working again (impacts ability to make phone calls as well). aggressively killing applications like podcast / audio apps, and subpar android auto experience. Because of these issues, it would be hard to recommend this to a non-technical person, but if you are willing to live with the slight jankiness I really think you will like it.

I hate this phone
terrible phone. so buggy, nothing works right. Screen is slow. speakers are tinny. only reason to buy this phone is is if you have screen sensitivities. otherwise pay a few more hundred and get a phone that has been crafted with good parts and good coding. because this phone is worthless. I only keep using it because of my cranial nerve problems. but I hate it

The best e-ink phone
This is the best e-ink phone on the market. It works like a regular Android phone, but the e-ink screen means that you are not attracted to social media or waste time doomscrolling. It is fantastic as an e-reader and easy on the eyes, both with the front light (which has good cool and warm tones), and without any light. The size (a little on the large side) is just right to function as an e-reader and replace your Kindle. Battery is decent: I usually charge it twice a week with fairly heavy usage. There is a learning curve with any e-ink device, but most of the software bugs have been worked out with frequent firmware updates. It is reliable enough to use as your sole phone. I wish more people knew about this phone: it can really help reduce screen addiction if you use it intentionally.

Not worth it yet
Screen is really cool and the battery last longer than usuall. I was really hoping for this phone to be a good replacement for my other phone in hopes to reduce my want or need to scroll. I won't lie it did that only because using it was an absolute headache from the baggy screen. I figured that Comes with the eink display. But the god aweful OS is downright terrible. Its laggy clunky and needs a giant overhaul. But its worst quality is that half of the time its so washes out or blacked out that you miss vital information or just can't even read a web page for instance. 2 out of 5 would not recommend. Its going in the right direction though but it needs more work.

Groundbreaking for long COVID and me/cfs screen intolerance
I have long covid and cannot look at a normal phone screen for too long. This allows me to use an Android phone while looking at a screen three to four times longer. For that, it's a godsend. I understand why the reviews are not great: there's some annoying bloatware, the phone feels slow, and overall it's just not a polished user experience. But there really aren't any other alternatives at the moment, so I'd say they're doing a fine job.

Great so far
Shipped with DHL, that was annoying because they required signature upon delivery and I had to reach out to DHL customer service to get them to drop off at our leasing office, then was marked delivered and wasn't, for next business day. Annoying. Regarding the actual phone itself, I really like it. I have Mint Mobile and have had no issues with cellular service. Screen is the best Eink screen I've encountered on a device, have the refresh rate tweaked on some apps to my liking. (Normally the default setting selected by the OS is good) As another reviewer said, battery life is very much comparable to normal smartphones. I've never had to worry about it dying in a day, but won't make more than that because of how I use it. (Hooked up to Bluetooth earbuds all day, reading, all the different apps I could want on it, checking email, google maps, X, etc etc) Performance is great, I've had flagship devices like the Galaxy ZFold6, S23 Ultra, and others, and the phone doesn't in any way feel slow to me. HOWEVER, if you're expecting normal smartphone performance from this screen you don't understand what you're buying. Watch a user video or 2 on Reddit or YouTube to know beforehand what it's like. Apart from speed, software is pretty reliable and I haven't encountered any crazy issues or bugs. Had an update out of the box, it's on Android 14, and don't really have any performance complaints. Security wise, I used several Reddit posts/research online to remove default bloatware and unnecessary apps via ADB, I use a VPN system wide, and it's connected to a private DNS. So I'm satisfied with those steps, especially in light of the fact that it's Google Play certified! I would highly recommend this. Wanting to ditch a normal smartphone but needing some of the conveniences they offer, it was this or the Light Phone 3, and so far I'm very happy with this. Pro Tip: I installed Niagara Launcher from the play store as I couldn't stand the default one, I've turned off the "Text Enhancement" option in the Eink center under App Optimization for almost every app, and I don't use the auto brightness function because it is so sensitive it's ridiculous. Follow these steps and you'll be happy.

It's not perfect, but overall I'm really happy with it. The screen really is quite good for an eink, the performance is very satisfactory, and also it has quite a few customization options. The main drawbacks come from lack of polish in the software department, though they're not deal breakers - at least for me, as I'm not using this as a daily driver.
