DK Eyewitness Travel Guide: Prague Review: Truly enjoyed this book - We were in Prague for 4 days in May. Truly enjoyed this book... Pictures in color made knowing what we were looking at very easy to identify. We LOVED Hotel Josef, a DK choice! One must make reservation through Hotel's own site to have breakfast included. GREAT buffet breakfast. Email hotel to verify this option still valid. Book came with really good, folded, map, Covered everything we wanted to see. Review: Great book although too heavy. - I just returned from a trip where I used this book. In the previous location I used a Rick Steve's book. Although there are number of day itineraries, I missed how Rick helps you know what to skip and how long to allow for each landmark. That said, I loved the colorful photos in this book. Yes, it makes it heavier, but it was nice to be able to recognize landmarks by photos, especially in a city full of gorgeous buildings. I also really liked the guided walks! There were several through parks where I got to see various palaces and gardens. There was also one through Old Town, which was great and helped you know what you were looking at. I also loved the very useful things like info on using tram, bus, and trains and pictures of what signs and purchasing machines looked like. Best of all were the restaurant recommendations for vegetarian food. Saved me! Definitely pick up a Streetwise map also.

DK guides are an active tourists most useful guide...
The included guided walking tours, complete with dotted maps and detailed observations, gives you a reason to carry this informative reference guide around with you, rather than leaving it in your hotel room!

A thorough guide to a beautiful city.
Very informative guide to Prague. Would recommend it as well as the "red" Hop-On Hop-Off Bus that you can get tickets for in Center City.

Traveling to Prague
This guide is comprehensive and made our visit to Prague more efficient and enjoyable. It is a bit on the heavy side but worth putting in the suitcase. Prague has no shortage of tourists, and the major sites, such as the castle area with changing of the guard, and the bridge are exceptionally crowded. It is best to visit those in the afternoon, and the book could better point out these points. Overall, a quality, comprehensive guide to the city for both those with little time and those who have time to thoroughly explore the city.

There are no better travel guides than DK
This guide helped me view the key sites in Prague during a short business trip. I only buy DK Eyewitness Guides....they are the best.

I love this series for travelling. I have been to Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, London and Lisbon using these guides and they have been great. The Prague version was a big let down. I found the map inaccurate and left off a lot of small street names in the labrynth of old town. I usually read the book before travel and only carry the map as I hike around. The number of times this map got me lost or wasn't able to help me made this a very frustrating product. All other cities I have used the Eye Witness maps in have been great and all I needed. Not the case with Prague. I'd suggest finding another tour guide book if you are heading to Prague. It is a fantastic city.

The Eyewitness guides are, in my opinion, the best. This one is extremely well-organized, and you can pre-plan your trip using the very clear maps and neighborhood guides. I highly recommend it!

In inglese ma aggiornatissimo (e' del 2015), conosco il tipo di pubblicazione perché la ritengo la migliore per visitare una città (non un paese, per quello sono imbattibili le Lonely), ma se dovete visitare una capitale questa è la guida migliore
