Samsung Tab 4 7 inch (2014) Hideaway with Stand White Gumdrop Cases Rugged Shock Absorbing Protective Dual Layer Cover Case

I purchased this case for a Galaxy Tab 4 that will mainly be used by a four year-old. Out of the box, it's an okay case. It feels solidly built and fits the tablet. The hard and soft combination of the case also feels like it will protect the tablet pretty well. Two simple modifications I did that upgrades the case from just okay to great are:1. As described in other posts, the rubber case is too long where it touches the power and volume buttons causing the tablet to continuously turn off. I used nail clippers, as suggested in another review, to remove maybe 1/16" of the rubber that touches the buttons. It doesn't really take much, so don't overdo it. Case buttons now work correctly.2. I'm not a fan of the screen protectors that don't adhere to the screen because dust/debris builds up between the protector and the screen, there is often some give between the protector and the screen, and because the inexpensive plastic screen protectors integrated into most cases scratch too easily - especially when used by children. So, I also purchased a tempered glass screen protector that adheres directly to the screen. Several are available here on Amazon; I got the "SPARIN® Clear Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 inch". With this virtually scratch-proof, more robust screen protector on the tablet, there was no need for the screen protector that comes as part of the case the case. I took a hairdryer and heated up the adhesive around perimeter of the screen protector until it was soft enough to peel the protector off. If you do it right, the adhesive comes right off too and doesn't leave the case sticky. Then I put the tablet into the Gumdrop case. purchased this case to help protect the Christmas present we purchased for our two youngest and am not disappointed. Just be aware that this thing needed a little modifying before the tablet worked properly inside it.I have to take a pair of nail clippers and trim some of the inside rubber button material off it before placing the tablet inside of it do to all of them being too long. Once this was done the tablet worked wonderfully and is protected enough for me to feel comfortable giving it to our 6 & 7 year olds.We've tried budget tablets before and even though they are cheap there are no real cases for them so we broke down and did this in hopes that screens wouldn't crack due to dropping.

Love the gumdrop case. Have had one on my 11 year old 's tab 4 since new. No issue on his. Just bought 3 more for other family members tablets. Two so far have the power button issue. What happens is the rubber interior on the power and volume controls is to long. It will constantly turn the tab on and off as well as silence the tab because they are pushing in on the buttons. I trimmed the excess rubber off with a pair of toenail clippers. Only a small amount needed removal. After that modification they haven't had an issue.

Great case. Good texture for easy handling and not losing grip on it. Really like the magnetic pop out stand. Only complaint is the rubber pads that allow you to press the buttons around the perimeter are too long as in they continually hold down, for example, the volume button. After snipping a bit of them off, they worked much better. So other than that, which is easily remedied, the case wad a good buy.

Very durable...Its been a few months since i have purchased this case and since then my 3yr old has dropped his tablet a million times on concrete and its still working and no cracks at all...Great case but the buttons as mentioned with other reviews need a little twerking...The company needs to fix this because I had to use a clipper to clip some of the rubber on the power button because the power would turn on and off with the slightest touch...

I like the durability of the Gumdrop cases. It will absolutely protect the tablet, but the buttons are molded wrong. When I put it on it kept holding down the power button. I cut off some of the extra rubber, and now I have to push super hard to turn it on because I cut off too much rubber. Really annoying - it also happened on a gumdrop case I bought got my mom's phone. Quality control issues. I like the functionality of the kick stand. I wish the screen protector plastic were slightly more scratch resistant. So, Gumdrop is losing ground in their quality control, but their cases still do an amazing job at protecting the tablet, which is why I still gave it 3 stars. I finally just bought a sturdier screen protector plastic, pulled off the cheap stuff and put the new one in. I like it better. Wish I didn't have alter it to get what I want.

Pros: Nice bright screen Android Screen is harder than steel so don't worry about putting it in your pocket with keys and no screen protectorCons:Touch times out near the sides of the screen The plastic on the back will be scratched by metal Horrible camerasMost of the screen has perfect touch functionality, however I have owned 2 (dropped the first one without a case :( ) and neither of them can keep a touch registered for more than a few seconds anywhere outside of the middle of the screen. I really liked the Galaxy on Fire games when I had my iPod 4th gen years ago, but because the controls are all on the sides of the screen I can not play it on this tablet. If you want to play games and a tablet is your only option for playing games, look elsewhere.

This case is awesome and even with dirty hard working hands it's still clean I bought anouther for my son's tablet that he will recieve fir Christmas. The stand that is in the back also is very useful in watching videos or for certain apps. I wouldn't hesitate to tell anyone to buy it for their own tablet. Worth every penny

Se protege muy bien y se ajusta perfecto al modelo, salvo uno de loa botones que tuve que rebajar ya que provocaba que el dispostivo se reiniciara constantemente.
