VGA to HDMI Adapter

so far so good!

I used this adapter to convert the SVGA output from an Elecraft P3 panadapter display into HDMI input for an LG 32" monitor, and it seems to be working perfectly at 1920x1080. We shall see if it's reliable (I note a few other reviewers had reliability issues). Note that it does need 5V power from a USB connection to work - you won't see any video without it. My application doesn't use audio so I haven't tested that part of the device. My only gripe is with the micro-USB connector for the power - this kind of connector is known to be flaky and prone to failure and I'd rather see almost anything else.

I had doubts whether this cable would work with my video capture card, but alas I was proved wrong! Once I hooked up the VGA cable to the back of the tower and plugged the USB cable into the 3.0 jack on the back of the tower, then the HDMI cable into the HDMI input on the capture card and the USB of the capture card into the 3.0 jack on the laptop, it was smooth sailing from there and I saw the welcome screen from the tower in OBS. Great success and one I am keeping! Wonderfully made cables and great connections. Definitely served my purpose. Didn't use the audio cable as I had a mixer running through the tower anyway so that works just fine. Picture is a little small and sometimes lags, but that is ok with me for now. If you are looking to hook your 10 year old VGA computer to HDMI whether it's a TV, monitor, or a video capture card like me, the VGA to HDMI converter works well, just remember to plug the USB power cord into the back of the VGA computer and you're set to go! I am typing this on the VGA computer now. Thanks Onten for the great cable and Amazon for offering it. You guys are grand!

Technically worked but my PC wouldn’t detect the TV I was trying to use. Could only run it at 800x600 resolution. Ended up having to go a different route. To be fair, this was under Ubuntu Linux not windows.

To those planning on getting this item it will either not work at all or it is a one way converter from the PC's VGA port to monitors HDMI port.

I needed this to adapt an older PC's VGA output to HDMI input (for the monitor.) Picture quality was very good, up to 2K. No drivers needed, just plug-and-play.

Originally -- 2 # becuase....creates a buzz in the Monitors/TV connected, must turn volume to 0. Picture on my samsung TV was too fuzzy to be worth while. Could be TV, but having to turn the volume to zero to get rid of the hum was aggravating. I just went back to my older VGA lower resolution monitor because --even if the resolution was not has high, the words were more readable. Added a star because now I am using it to go to HD monitor. Not using sound, so no buzz. The little transformer does get hot, but it has been working ok.

Instructions were not clear and readable. I had an older TV and a somewhat older laptop so clear instruction for the hookup would have nice to follow.
