Lucy Worsley gets into bed with our past monarchs to uncover the Tales from the Royal Bedchamber. She reveals that our obsession with royal bedrooms births, and succession is nothing new. In fact, the rise and fall of their magnificent beds reflects the changing fortunes of the monarchy itself. Review: Lucy does it again! - Another great documentary about British history by Lucy Worsely. She makes any topic fun and interesting. Review: Lucy Worsley is so fun to watch. - I love Lucy's spin on history. She always puts some fun and cleverness into her work. I even love the way she pronounces her R's! You go, Lucy!

Just love Lucy's presentations!
Entertaining and informative - a typical Lucy Worsley documentary - we thoroughly enjoy her presentations and, in fact, have several of her other DVDs. She has a gift of making 1-dimensional historical figures "come alive."

Interesting and amusing
I really like the documentaries that Lucy Worstley does about the British palaces, clothing and history of the royalty. She has such a great sense of humor. For most Americans, the whole aristocracy thing is so ridiculous. No wonder there is little left of it, except in very few countries. After all, they are and were only people like all of us. Still it is fascinating and one can certainly see that the extravagancies almost bankrupted countries. Certainly, they had the opportunity to create great beauty which still exists and which the public can view in historic palaces and museums. This documentary is more about the pageantry surrounding the bedchambers of royalty and how it changed through the centuries as royalty lost power to parliament. A good thing, for sure.

Captivating
An captivating look at several areas, but most interesting to me was showing how royal clothes, bed linens, and various other things were stored and cared for. Mind boggling in the amount stored, actually. Told in a charming and enjoyable way, it's a good hour of history and monarchical life. Having lived in London and visiting various parts of the UK, this served to enhance my recollection of places I've been to, or wish to visit in the future.

This is another of Lucy Worsley's wonderfully entertaining historical glimpses into the past. Having enjoyed all of Lucy Worsley's TV programmes I found it very disappointing that the BBC has chosen not to make any available to purchase as DVDs. This DVD comes from America and is Region 1 requiring a multi region player in the UK, the image quality by the way is excellent.

Another entertaining documentary, including splendid costuming and settings. My only complaint is that Lucy often sounds like her microphone is inside her clothing because her voice is quite muffled. I could hear everything but I had to turn the volume up much louder than usual.
