Installed the 150" screen over my garage door and set up a quick movie (rhymes with "Blinding Temo") just to see how it would look with some ambient light still. As you can see - even with the sun setting behind me, there was PLENTY of contrast and overall picture quality got a lot of "wows" from the neighbors. Two of their kids grabbed chairs and just posted up for the duration. I'd say that's an instant-win. The screen initially didn't retract all the way and was veeery slow to go back up. I contacted Elite Screens customer service and they sent me the instructions to add tension back into the rod. Took me 5 minutes with an extra set of hands from my wonderful wife. Tossed it back up and *boom*, worked like a charm. Retracts fully unassisted at a reasonable pace and locks in place. I was able to pull it down and have it "lock in" at plenty of intervals (maybe around an inch per "step"?), so I wasn't sure what the other reviewers were having trouble with...mine dialed in nicely. I'd say it's a genuine win. Good customer service (they got back to me in less than a day) and good quality screen for the money. Neighborhood movie night and game night just went to a whole new level.

I purchased the 135 inch Elite Screen Manual Series. I was worried after reading some of the other reviews but decided to go ahead and purchase it. Amazon has always had a good return policy so I felt they would back me up if there was a problem. Mine arrived on time, well packaged, and in perfect condition. I also purchased the two brackets so that I could mount this to my wall. I would recommend that if you order the screen and the package ends look damaged to not accept delivery. As for some screens looking twisted I feel that it depends on how you have the screen laying on the floor. When I put mine on the floor it was fine. I could then lift one end and rotate it to give the impression of it being twisted. But if wasn't. You just need to have it laying on the same edge at both ends. When you hang the screen on the wall both D rings are on the same edge and it will be fine. As for hanging. I would not trust that your drywall will be strong enough to hold this. I would recommend attaching directly into the stud or making a bracket between two studs. I went into an existing stud and then measured over and added a brace (behind the wall ) between two other studs. I'm in the basement and had access behind the wall. The screen looks great, works as it should, and was really pretty easy to put up. I did it on a Sunday night in about 30 minutes. I hope this helps your decision in finding a screen.

This screen was was easy to install. Note: There is no additional hardware that comes packaged with this screen. There are two easy ways to install this screen: 1 - There are small rings permanently attached at the top of each end of the screen case, so you can just use two #6 screw hooks. Using a tape measure, measure across 102" and mark each end; this is the precise measurement where the two rings will hook into. This is what I did. 2 - There are two screw or hook holes pre-drilled on the back ends of the case (the kind you would see when attaching a phone to your wall). The measurement across is also 102", so, provided you have some heavy duty screws or small picture frame hooks, it should install just fine. Overall, the screen is great! There are no ripples, or creases, the screen surface was and still is perfectly flat. One of the great features of this screen is the black bordering on all four sides, it just makes for a better movie watching experience. I could have paid $50 or so extra for the electric pull-down screen, but I didn't see the point in using up another outlet. I figured that if I can't figure out how to manually adjust the screen size, than I probably shouldn't be tying my own shoe laces either. I host movie nights and with an LED movie projector, the picture quality looks phenomenal, very clean and crisp on the 120" screen, especially sci-fi/action and horror movies.

Screen is everything I expected and was hoping for. Huge! It's best if you have a helper when hanging this beast. 42 pounds doesn't sound like much weight but stretched out over 10 feet, it can be awkward to handle. Had that "new" smell at first but quickly went away. Sreen goes up and down easily, easier than the smaller 120 4:3 screen it replaced. For the most part, we plan to just leave the screen down in place. Second Elite screen and very happy with it, only replaced the first screen because we wanted to go bigger. If we ever want or need another screen, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Elite. Very happy with the screen, not so much with shipping. Screen wasn't damaged or anything like that, Fed EX did the usual great job, but the screen got stranded at the terminal 30+ miles from my home. No home delivery was arranged or paid for. Had I been told I would need to pick this up at the terminal, wouldn't have been a problem, but waiting for delivery then being told it it wasn't scheduled, then having to either pay for home delivery or pick it up. I was more than a little upset. Instead of paying and waiting even longer, I just drove the 60+ round trip to get the screen. Would have been a problem if I didn't own a truck. Wonderful screen, crappy shipping service from the seller

Got quite anxious after reading the reviews here right after ordering. However, luckily mine arrived in perfect working condition. Installation was straight forward and had it up on the wall within the hour it arrived. Luckily there were good sturdy studs right on the area i wanted it installed. With everything installed and mounted, it takes a good tug to pull the screen completely down; and the retraction going back is nicely paced, slow and gentle although by itself it commonly wont retract fully and needs a little nudge for everything to get in back the casing. I'm using a short throw projector, and although ive seen in the manual that it discourages short throws with this model, i have not experienced anything bad about it. The bar at the end of the screen has good weight to prevent it from swaying. However, i am using this indoors with windows closed; your own experience may vary depending the environment you set this up on. Screen is well even, flat, and had shown no distortions. Overall, it pretty much functions the way i wanted it to. Ive only had this for a few weeks so only time can tell how sturdy all of this can be. But so far its been very good.
