I bought the hard case for protection as I did not trust some flimsy sleeve or cardboard backed case to protect the small sensitive electronics. desertcartBasics delivered on a quality case. I went with the black case and have been very pleased with the safety the case provides. I can easily throw my switch in my bag and am on the go. I ride the bus and never worry about crushing or breaking the switch. Pros: - Hard plastic case that holds its shape - Rubber injection molding for additional protection on the outside of the case - Form fitting molding to caress the contours of the buttons, joysticks, and curves. - Slide latch that keeps the case closed, but won't accidentally open - Storage for switch game cartridges - Looks and feels great, and enforces the feeling of security knowing your switch will still be fine wherever your travels go - Keeps the dust and lint from getting on the switch Cons: - Besides the switch and a handful of games, nothing else goes in the case. I would worry about carrying additional Micro SD cards unless they are in a case the size of a game cartridge, they may fall out accidentally. - The case is form fitting so no extra or bulky cases on your switch will fit in the case. Slim switch covers may be fine I travel to work and go camping with my switch and this case has protected my switch for the past year. In my mind the case has paid for itself in the protection it provides. Review: A generic-sounding product with a huge value - Purchased this about a month ago to carry my Switch around with, after deciding against getting an official case at a big name store. This case, while being almost half the price as many, seems to twice as better. The build quality is exceptional. While it is almost all plastic, you can tell it was designed and built to withstand punishment. The Switch sits inside, nice and snug on a bed of thick rubber or rubberized plastic, with a pillow of heavy foam above it. I feared that the hinge would be a flexing piece of plastic, but it is not. Instead, it is a fairly heavy-duty hinge with a metal rod. Additionally, the lip around the two halves appears to be designed to seal it when closed. While I haven't had the courage to test it, I would feel fairly confident that this case would be able to protect the Switch from rain and spills. The last touch that I find most satisfying of all is the latch; a large, spring loaded switch that gives a nice sharp click when you close it. The only part that I feel might be a weakness is the cartridge holder; it is made of a flexible vinyl-like material. While mine hasn't done so yet, I feel this may potentially stretch out and not be able to hold the cartridges as well. However, as I said, I haven't had that issue come up; it's just nitpicky conjecture. I would highly recommend this case to anyone wanting to protect their Nintendo Switch, and I feel that it is definitely worth its cost and more.

Best hardcase for travel on the market
For a "Amazon Basic" item this is one of the best switch cases I've seen. with foam cutouts for the switch to rest firmly in, and cutouts in the lid for the joycon buttons to fit freely, this thing is both secured, bulletproof, and functional. I bring my switch around with me a lot and wanted a durable case that also prevented damage should something fall on it. soft cases just don't provide that protection, and most hardcases I found still didn't guard the buttons like this one does. the switch is easy to push in and remove too! It's thicker than most other cases I've used. but that's to be expected. and even still It's not as large as you'd think! 11/10 I'd suggest this case for the price if you wanted a durable travel case to protect your expensive videogame handheld and a few extra games.

High Quality, Rugged Protection For Your Switch
I had spent some time searching Amazon for the perfect case for my Switch. I looked through the soft cover ones and ones made of metal but nothing really looked like it would provide the protection I wanted. Then I saw this bad boy and noticed the foam insert that cradles your Switch while it's in the case. This case works great. You can put the Switch in, click the case close, and shake it and there is no rattling whatsoever. You even have a pocket for approximately 8 switch games. Even with this full there is no danger of scratches to the switch screen. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to travel with just the base Switch and a few games. This provides protection that I do not feel the softcover cases can and the outer plastic shell will stand up to abuse and still hold an appealing appearance.

It's a good case as long as you know what you are getting
As the pictures make clear, this is not a large carry-all for the switch and all the accessories you could possibly want. It holds the switch with joy-cons and a couple games and that's it. It's a very minimalist case in general. As long as you understand what you are getting I think it works very well and if you are looking for something that just holds the basics and is small, this is a great option. I do have a couple of small gripes listed in the cons section that keep it from getting a full 5 stars. PROS: -Seems well made and should protect the contents well -Small form factor compared to a lot of other cases -Doesnt scream "video games," at least in black. CONS: -The latch is plastic and seems a little weak; if you drop the case from waist height it may well and dump all its contents everywhere. -the game pouches are vinyl so they will stretch out over time. Not sure if it will pose a problem down the road. Additionally, they used black vinyl instead of clear, so you can't see what the games are unless you actually pull them out. In short, if you want something with a lot of bells and whistles and extra storage space, look elsewhere. If you want something small and unobtrusive that protects the game system alone, this is a great option.

Absolutely the best Switch case on the market
If you are looking for a case for storing or transporting your Switch, stop your search here. This is the best you are going to find. The outside of the case is sleek looking and the surfaces are smooth and appealing visually. The rubber detailing around the edges offers robust protection from drops and damage. Inside, the dense foam cutout perfectly fits the console with no wiggle, retaining it securely and preventing any movement during transport. The included cartridge storage sleeve is very low profile and fits nicely into the screen cutout. This is an extremely efficient, no-nonsense case that does exactly what a case is designed to do, all while maintaining a slim, sleek design and look, all at an extremely affordable price. I could not be happier with this purchase.

Most protective switch case?
Feels extremely sturdy I mean it’s called a vault case for a reason lmao. I feel very safe taking my switch with me places because if I was to drop it I think this case would hold up just fine and I wouldn’t have to worry about a broken joy on or damage done to the switch. I think that for the money this can’t be beat you can buy a very cheap feeling case at Best Buy for a similar price and I just didn’t trust it. I also love the game holder because I never take more than a few games with me anyway plus I have tons of games downloaded. Honestly it’s a steal if your like me and take your switch everywhere it’s not to big to fit in a bag and the extra sturdy feel of the case assures your switch will be safe.

Great for it's price.
5 stars because of what it is and does. It's a hardshell protective case with some sort of hard, somewhat porous, rigid, rubbery, foam on the inside on top. I can tell it'll keep dirt out, but once it's in there, it's IN THERE. As far as shock absorbtion, I'd rather not try and test it because the console cutout on the bottom is just hard plastic. Cutouts for the system are nice and aligned, system stays put, and there's storage for your extra game carts and has a nice, satisfying *click* when you shut it. It doesn't flex when you twist it and the lid stays mated together. That being said, while it is a hard case, it's no Pelican case, so no guarantees on waterproofing, and the game cart holder feels like some sort of Walmart-grade plasticky "pleather" that's just glued in and feels like after a too many trips, it'll eventually come off. That being said, it's nice for the price, and I've got zero real complaints about it! Tip- get some rubber stripping and put some around the case to have much better shock absorbtion and to avoid scratches/dings on rough surfaces if you want to keep it pretty and sleek.
