Great Book, Add a Photo of the "F", please, authors
Thank you so much for this book; it's a great resource. You do need to add a pic or two, tho. I get pics prob increase the production cost of the book and your readers google, but you have specific examples that your descriptions depend on. The letter "F" example, with supports and spacing, for example, it just needs a pic. That's just fact. You need to put a pic there. The rest? Fantastic. Definitely a five star book for 3d printing novices. There isn't much out there and glad for the help. I've been reading through the few books, lol, and each offers something unique, yours included. Your advice was helpful.

Good information for beginners
This is exactly the basic overview I needed to get started 3D printing. It’s got straightforward explanations of the process and devices, suggestions of what to look for when you’re choosing a 3D printer, some tips to consider if you’re planning on doing it as a business, a detailed section on slicing, and some troubleshooting ideas.I could probably have looked all of this information up online, but it is really nice to have it all in one small book. Bonus: I can share it with my kid, who will also be using our 3D printer (and who is at the age where she takes anybody else’s advice over her mom’s).My only complaint is that the content is poorly edited in a bunch of places, and that always distracts me. Typically, I will stop reading a book if it has typos or grammatical errors, because I can’t avoid getting distracted by them and they make me doubt the quality of what I’m reading — but this is good content, so I’m reading on. I wish the author had gotten a better editor to fine-tune the content before publishing, and that’s my only complaint. To be clear, this is very basic information. I could have searched the internet and read through forums to asssemble a similar reference guide. But it is worth it to have a short reference to keep near our device during my upcoming 3D printing newbie phase. If you’re a newbie, it could be worth your while to check this out.

A mile wide, a few inches deep.
'Definitive Handbook'? Meh.Overall, a good primer for those who are new to 3D printing. They cover a wide variety of topics. But, don't get into enough detail to really understand the technical aspects of some topics. Too much emphasis on the history and business aspects of 3D printing and not enough on the practical things. Not a picture in the entire book! Showing the difference between open frame and enclosed printers would be much clearer with a picture. A picture of "elephant foot" would be far more valuable than a paragraph describing it. Pictures, diagrams...some sort of visual aids would go a long way to improving the understanding of the material. And as another reviewer mentioned, the writing is sometimes confusing. It seems that the author was appealing to a PhD demographic. Does the author need to get into the details of the 5W+H methodology?IMO, with some grammatical revisions and the addition of some graphical information, the authors could add value to this handbook.

Easy read with lots of good information
This is a nice little primer with some good ideas and advice. Certainly not a stand-alone work, but when used in conjuntion with other "How To" books does add some tips and tricks that are valuable and easy to implement. The section listing the sites offering free stl downloads was particularly helpful and I noted those pages directly on the face of my copy for faster reference. I like the authors' writing style which boiled things down to their core. Nice job!

Not worth the money paid.
The problem with this book is that it reads and looks amateurish. There are no flow diagrams for processes, nor any pictures or diagrams. It lacks all of that and is more like a poorly written glossary.and a low information glossary at that. I was disappointed because the cover is very cool and promises a lot and delivers very little. It is a books that is little more than a brief introduction to the subject. You will not get very far with it before you realize you will have to seek knowledge on the 3D printing subject elsewhere. I therefore, regretfully, cannot recommend buying this book. And in reality I feel duped.
