Dependable. Helps to keep battery charging to 80%
I've had several devices (phones and tablets) whose batteries could barely hold a charge after two years. Back then I was a "plug it in all night" kind of guy, and my tablet was plugged in probably 20 hours a day. I had heard the theory that this treatment led to battery damage, so decided I'd try keeping the battery charge between 20% - 80%. This meant I'd need a way to stop charging at the 80% mark. I installed the Android app AccuBattery, which you can configure to have an alarm go off at a chosen charge percentage. This works fine if you're sitting at your desk and hear the alarm, but doesn't work in other situations, such as if you need to charge your phone at night! I then tried a USB device that goes between the charger and your phone, and connects to your phone via a Bluetooth app. Software on the phone would send a signal to the device at 80% charge point, telling it to shut down the charging current. This sounded like the perfect solution, but there were hassles with making sure the correct device was connected via Bluetooth (I would have both my phone and charger bedside, for example) and for some reason, over time, this device would no longer provide any more than the tiniest trickle of charge, meaning my phone would never get charged. Or ... the bluetooth app would stop running, meaning I'd wake up to a phone at 100% charge. So finally I tried this timer charger, and finally I have something that works! With a bit of testing I know approximately how fast each of my devices charges (what percentage they charge in an hour), so I can pretty accurately estimate how long I'll need to charge something in order to get to 80%. For example, my phone charges about 66% in an hour, so if it's down to 20% I'll set the time for 50 minutes and after that time it will be close to 80%. Another plus is that this can be used on any kind of device, even Kindle e-readers. I have never used the "time to turn on" functionality, so cannot comment on it. In fact, I would prefer for it not to have that functionality, so that the top and bottom buttons can be hour up/down, minute up/down, but this is a minor quibble.

Good for maximizing power bank
This little gadget is small enough (and reasonably priced) where it has a lot of value added for those trying to maximize the life of a battery bank. I use it when traveling, and will (for example) put it on an hour long charge before this device will automatically cut power thereby saving the life of the battery bank. That charge is enough to get me through another day. Without it, the battery bank will continue discharging (all night for example) and I will only get one or two charges. With this thing, I can go a week! Cons: If you have a smart battery and want to put a delay on it to when to start charging, the smart battery will cut power and the charge will never happen. Additionally, this device has no memory, so every time you connect the timer, you have to re-program it. But, for the price and functionality, I love it. Thanks guys!

Very Low charging speed
First: The timer I received is scratched up and definitely used. So Beware, the seller is reselling used as though new. Second: The product claims this USB timer can do up to 3 amps. (That's 3,000 mAH) I have tried plugging this thing into several different chargers and none of them even come close to 3 amps. When plugged into my 2 amp charger, I see a charging current on my phone of around .3 amps (300 mAH) The best I can get is around .5 amps when plugged into my 2.4 amp charger. I've even tried a 3 amp charger and it performs worse for some reason. Third thing: The charging current is wildly inconsistent. It's all over the place. I've attached two screenshots of my android app called AccuBattery which measures amperage, voltage and battery life. You can see in the screenshots one is giving about .1 amps and the other is just about .5 amps. This is while plugged into my 2.4 amp charger. Pretty pathetic performance given that the product promises 3 amps. That being said, my unit currently works. Just nowhere near what is promised.

Handy timer with flexibility -- UPDATE several months later!
I wasn't looking for a permanently set-and-repeat daily timer. I don't think this capability is communicated in the product description so why the negatives? Rather, one that I could adapt to different timing situations easily. This fits the bill to set the timing for small USB fans that I use to cool the tubes on my tube stereo amps. I set it to run for a period of time while I am using the amp and also for a bit extra to cool after the amp is turned off. Works perfectly and I don't have to return to the equipment a second time to shut off the fan. Only thing I wish was to have an option to dim or shut off the display while the timing function is still in operation. Could be awoken by a button tap. I communicated this to the seller and received the response that another batch of the timers coming up will have a darken function. With these, I am using a small bit of black electrical tape to cover the display as I wish. Works good. Nice inexpensive little gadget that so far works great. *** UPDATE 7/2019 *** As you see above, I mentioned communicating to the seller the wish for dimming or a shut-off ability for the display; and they said it was in the works. Completely forgot about it all as my dimming tape was ok. But the other day I received a mystery package and opened it to find two updated USB controllers with shut-off capability... with a note saying they were sorry it took so long - they had planned for April but had some issues...!! They are great...the display goes dark after 10 seconds but can be re-activated by pushing any of the control buttons - without entering or changing any of the timing parameters. But more importantly, the service and followup from Mercea is completely amazing. They probably didn't have to do this but someone in their company made a note, remembered, and provided great customer service. I was floored..it's a small item but the service is incredible and I, for one, want to make it public. Thanks!

This unit will power on and power off your device after a certain set time frame. Only thing is does not do it looping it on and off continuously after the set time. Would be a nice option if it does,

Not easy to use. Instructions are barely understandable. Not what I expected. Not much use.
