Does it stay upright on carpet or does it get knocked over easy?

it stays upright just fine, but slides easilyour cat doesn't seem to mind that at all, tho - he sometimes runs up to it and pushes it on purpose!it's still his favorite track & ball toy :D

What is the size of the ball in the outer ring?

Both balls are the same size...approx. 2" across, but if you wrap a soft sewing tape measure around the circumference, it is about 6". They are sturdy enough to hold up to our 4 month old "terror" of a kitten, and you can remove them if you need to. The plastic frame work is flexible, yet strong. He plays with it frequently and is self entertaining. You can remove the top piece with the mouse for a different dimension of play for them as they get older. We are happy with the purchase and the price.

Does the ball on the bottom rack make a sound when it is set in motion?

It is a hallow ball, so it makes the sound of the plastic ball wobbling around the track. We recently got a stray outside cat to move in as well, and he loves it too. Between the two cats, it gets a lot of use.

Our kitties chewed that poor mouse up. Does anybody know if you can get a replacement mouse for this?

I'm sorry my cat chew it off too. They don't have replacement mouse.
