Awesome product for the price
Although one might come to expect quality with every electronic component purchased, we all know that its impossible. Thus when buying this, I had low expectations. What a wonderful surprise I was in for. To begin with, I bought this for convenience and to be able to snap pics on my computer. The package arrived and everything was secure and well packed. Although I never used anything like this before, everything was rather intuitive. Good thing, as the instructions left much to be desired. I am still trying to figure out how to use the program. After a couple of hours, I was able to do more than I thought I could with it. Overall, I am amazed with the product. Confining my hobby to brewing, so far all I use this for is to court cells. It does a great job day after day.

Great for beginners
This is awesome. Great for kids, easy to teach them to focus using it. Not super high pic quality, if you want high quality check out the manuf web site for 2MP and higher, but this is great for starters.

64 bit windows 7 computer and this camera did not jive
I returned this camera because the software was funky with my 64 bit Windows 7 platform - even though the software is supposed to function fine. USB is pretty much plug and play. The CD with the software installed fine - easy breezy set up. In execution however, the software once launched allows you to select the camera (easy) and then the image of whatever is under the microscope is supposed to show up. The first moments were great! I was excited - seeing the live blood sample that I wanted to view on my computer screen. Then minutes later it all went dark on the screen. It wasn't my computer, wasn't the microscope, it wasn't the actual camera - it's the software -- has to be. I tried the camera on 3 separate occasions and each time everything initializes fine and I see the images and then repeatedly, the screen goes blank and I can't get the images back. Very heartbreaking. I so wanted this to work...

Good camera - but not WYSIWYG in my setup
I would give it all five, but, perhaps unavoidably, it increased the magnification factor of my low-power (10x - 20x) stereo microscope to about 50x minimum, which is more than I want for the application. No fault of the camera - just the way it is, I know, but it was a bit disappointing that what you see (by eye, through one eyepiece) is not what you get (by camera, through the other), and it might help future buyers to understand that if it is replacing a 10x eyepiece, magnification will be increased - which MAY be desirable. It just wasn't in my case. Otherwise really good little piece of equipment. I built my own lens setup for parts inspection using a shortened barrel from a cheap 9-LED flashlight, which this fits inside of just about perfectly. I still need to play with longer focal length primaries, but I had a lens that also fit the flashlight (replacing the LED assy), and it works quite nicely - still just a tad too much magnification.

Great camera for the AmScope M150C microscope
I bought this with the AmScope M150C: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AM5XB5O?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_10 for my eight year old daughter that loves everything science. She already had a 400X microscope but she wanted something that she could use with her computer. The combination of the microscope and this camera was the perfect setup for her. She was looking at flower pedals, grass, leaves and everything else she could get her hands on. Totally recommend the package of this camera with the AmScope M150C microscope

Bugs
I love this. Easy to use. Picture quality is not the best but it is still a good way to see and record microscopic stuff!

0.3 MP Camera
I don't like how it's only 0.3 MP. Others in the same price range are 1.3 MP and I thought this was as well but now realize it's not listed anywhere. If you zoom in on the photo they have listed you can see they blurred out the picture rating. Pictures are meh, I might return and get a 1.3 in the same price range.

Poor picture quality but easy to use.
The picture quality is poor. Even though I changed the power supply setting as recommended, it was hard to see my objects because of the flickering. Also, the color quality was poor. The software was easy to install and the camera was easy to use.

Easy to install but colour is 'reversed'...red comes on-screen as green...cannot get into program to alter it. If AmScope can't help will return it..

Excellent. Exactly what was required to do the lesson.
