Good for letting your neighbours know you're cooking
I decided to buy this despite the numerous negative reviews, mainly because I wanted the "wet" grinding ability. The first thing you notice when using it is the noise. Think electric drill through masonry. I nearly dropped it in shock the first time. I recommend following the instructions concerning using for 5 seconds, then turning off for 5 seconds. As well as letting the motor cool down, it should avoid tinnitus. The grinding ability appears to be variable. I put some ginger in it, and it took a slice out of the bottom, which then remained under the blade and didn't get chopped further while the rest got pulped. This meant I had to dismantle the top and poke the slice out. Twice. They do provide a spatula for this. However, putting chopped chilli's in created a rather nice paste at the first attempt, and didn't require a further 5 seconds. Putting hard objects like cloves and peppercorns in results in something resembling the grit that accumulates around my patio after a dry spell. These do require several bursts, but the end result is better than I achieved after an extended session with a mortar and pestle. I haven't noticed any liquids leaking out the bottom yet, unlike some other reviewers, and it appears to be waterproof when I fill it with water to wash out, so not sure how others are getting wet motors. Mind you the wettest I have ground is those chilli's. This grinder doesn't have its own power switch, rather it starts when the top is aligned with three slots then pushed down. My preferred method is to push the lid fully down, while the base is on the work surface, then flick the mains switch on the wall. The fact that the mains lead is extremely short aids this maneuver. Edit: Well, 27 months now, and still going strong. My pestle and mortar has now been retired, because this is so much better. You can use it on onions too provided you chop them up first. Makes a lovely smooth curry paste. Just in case anyone is still tempted, recommended!

Great but design issues
This was a good little grinder which I loved and considered 5-star as long as it worked, but i think as other reviews suggest there are design weaknesses. In the end the white plastic body case on mine cracked - and possibly moisture entered - I had not noticed this until I got a couple of mild electric shocks - or so I think - which occurred when operating it when my other hand was earthed by touching a cooker hob. DIY investigation / repair is possibly unwise and also not practical - it looks as if you need a specialist two-pronged screwdriver to remove the case. Despite my recent experience it had served me so well I was going to buy another, but the order was cancelled due to stock problems, and maybe it has been discontinued. There is a chrome version, but it is not clear if this has a metal body, or is plastic with a chrome finish, in which case after my recent experience I would fear electrocution.

A natty little gadget!
I bought this grinder because my old coffee grinder attatchment had finally given up the ghost! Primarily, I wanted something to grind nuts and seeds, I'm not so worried about the "wet" grinding, although that's a handy thing to have. And this is great! Nice and easy to use, it's got quite a big blade for a small machine, so it grinds up really quickly and it's easy to slip apart to clean. I'm delighted with it!

Revel Wet' N Dry Grinder
The Revel Wet' N Dry Grinder is brilliant, it's easy to use and most importantly, is very easy to clean. Have not used it for wet ingredients, yet, but it is perfect for things like ground almonds, even when freshly blanched. My only criticism, and it is very minor, is that the grinding container is rather small; this might be useful for curry pastes etc, but a standard quantity of ingredients, (for example for a cake) needs to be ground in quite a few batches.

SELLER WARNING
Firstly I am aware that this is a review for the product itself. However, after being unable to sort out this issue with the seller and Amazon not being of much help I am writing this. They (UKDAPPER) had sent me this item and it was faulty. The machine would switch on even when the top portion was not pressed. I took videos of this and the seller confirmed it was faulty. They told me I had to send it back insured and upgraded post otherwise they would not accept it. I spent MY funds to return this item. It was a little under £10.00. A significant portion of the cost of the item itself! The seller said they would refund all shipping costs plus the cost of the item. This is also a consumer right for faulty goods. Once they received the item, they refused to refund either! Eventually they refunded the cost of the item but not the shipping I paid out of my own pocked for a dangerous product. It would vibrate suddenly and switch on and off even when I stood quite far from the machine. Needless to say it could not be used reasonably in any manner. They called me from an unknown caller and in short that they would have the last say. I am filing a complaint with the OFT. They operate under other names as well. Avoid UKDAPPER! Scam. Such a shame Amazon refused to help. Jeff Bezos, your UK service center is definitely not very consumer-centric. Perhaps it was just the agent, but they do leave notes and everyone said it's between you and the seller. Really? Buy a product that would suddenly rotate a blade and that's normal?! UKDAPPER AVOID THE SELLER

getting the top off
do not, I repeat do not throw away the instructions, especially the thin one that tell you how to seperate the grinder from the holder. If you have a friend helping in the kitchen make them read the instructions. Otherwise tip top

Not a good grinder
I bought this Wet & Dry grinder to replace one I'd had for at least 22 years. Sigh, they don't make them to last like they used to. When it arrived I was surprised to see how small it was. The lid is fiddly to take off and you as you can fit so little in it you need to take it off often to refill. Then you can only use it for 5 seconds at a time, pausing for 5 seconds before reusing. I'd used it may be on 8 separate occasions before the motor stopped working altogether! Fortunately Amazon came to the rescue and gave me a full refund + postage. I honestly cannot recommend this item.

Excellent!
This is a wonderful little grinder! Takes up no space at all and quick and easy to use. Washes quickly and easily too. I use mine mainly for grinding coffee beans to a fine powder for my espresso machine which it does with ease. Well worth the money and trendy looking too!
