Amazing Mailbox Alarm
I purchased this as a replacement and was blown away with how much superior this is to the old one I had. It does have the base station you need to setup, and I have this farther away from the mailbox than I ever have. The setup was simple, just install the app on your phone. Only took me a few minutes to get setup. The device for the mailbox is pretty flexible, there are different options for how to mount it depending on your mailbox setup. This works with a bunch of different types of mailboxes. Mine is a standard side of the road mailbox where the door flips down. This device is VERY sensitive and I've never missed an alert (again my old one wouldn't always register the door opened). You also have adjustments for the sensor to accommodate non-level ground or other anomalies in your installation. If I was critical about anything, it would be the instructions on mounting the sensor. There is an adjustment knob, which appears to allow you to adjust for uneven ground, but I couldn't find anything in the instructions. Luckily it wasn't an issue for me. Now some cool things.. the app gets a push notification from the base station when the mailbox is opened. The base station blinks red, you get an alert on your phone, and in the app you get a big red pop-up indicating the mailbox was opened. You have to press the little button on the back of the base station to turn off the alert. This means keep the base station handy. I really wish there was a way to reset it through the application. To be fair, there is an option in the app as to whether or not to flash red until you acknowledge it by pressing the button. The app is flexible, you can determine if you want an audible alarm, if you want it to sound once or until acknowledged. You can also change the sound it plays. 7 different options and multiple volume levels. Mine has barking dogs activated. As complete as this device is, I was a little annoyed that the sounds are labeled Tone 1, Tone 2, ... until Tone 7. You basically have to play each of them to figure out which one to use. You also have the option of what type of notifications. The device was triggered, when silenced, or if there is a low battery. Finally, the base station is the generic X-Sense base station, so it works with their other security products (door open, motion sensor, etc.) Bottom line, this is superior than any other mailbox alert system that I've had. The distance and reliability is awesome! I love that I get alerts on my mobile device. If you are in the market, I can't image how you could go wrong. Awesome device!!

Mailbox Alarm, Security Camera and Hygrometer All Work Great
Overall easy set up, good connection, work great. General: 1. Every item has an easy step up. 2. The range seems to be great. I've installed some smart switches, smart bulbs, and outlets that are quite touchy and don't have very good range, but not these. Seem to come right back when we loose power. Knock on wood, we haven't had problems with them going offline. 3. I saw a comments that you can't assign multiple accounts to the base station. This true, but you can put them all on one account and share them and that works fine. Note that the Mailbox Alarm and Hygrometer/Thermometers all share when added to the base station. For the Cameras you have to share each one individually. 4. These units all take "normal" batteries (triple or double AA, can't remember which) except the camera which have built in lithium rechargables. The app shows the battery strength which is handy. 5. I think the dashboard would be better if you had an option to see a tabular (spreadsheet style) display, especially if you have a lot of devices. App in general works well, but could be better. 6. No subscription required to get functionality Mailbox Alarm: Our mailbox is over 200 feet away and there is no line of sight, so I was concerned this would work but no problem. Hygrometers/Thermometers: These were $10 off for 3 with a base station, so that was cheaper then buying them individually. We have them outside (On a covered porch) and all over the house. We use some fans to move air from a finished basement to the upstairs to cut down on the AC. These have helped us improve the placement. Has an export data function, but I haven't tried it yet. Cameras: 1. You can get a cloud service subscription, but you don't have to. Motion sensing works great. At medium it triggers on people but not the cats. 2. We are mostly shady, but the solar cells seem to draw enough to keep the cameras charged up. You need to get a SD card per camera if you want to store and retrieve. 3. The share function requires more steps and has to be done for each camera. Seemed to lag from when you shared to when you could access, but they all eventually worked (maybe 5 minutes?). Could be because some where updating firmware. 4. These work where other items were not able to get on the WIFi. 5. There is some lag in the motion alarm and the actual motion. 6. You get a mic and speaker on each camera. Work fine with few second lag. 7. Each camera takes it's own SD card. Supposed to be able to download, but I haven't found that. 8. Viewing the recorded videos is 3 steps in the app (Click camera, then gear, then history) Would be better right Camera click. Not the greatest for picking out recordings (you have to scroll a line to a dot) but it all works. Mailbox Alarm, Security Cameras and Hygrometer All Work Great

Works great, good value for the price, and easy to install!
The X-Sense Smart Mailbox Alarm works great! The quality and durability of the Base and Mailbox is good. The only area for improvement is to send better double-sided adhesive strips. For Ring users, the X-Sense Smart Mailbox Alarm WORKS FAR BETTER than Amazon’s Ring Mailbox Sensor which requires the additional purchase of an Amazon Bridge and the use of Amazon Sidewalk. The X-Sense Smart Mailbox Alarm works seamlessly with your home Wi-Fi. BOTH the X-Sense Smart Mailbox Alarm with the X-Sense Base (which is included) currently costs LESS THAN the purchase of Amazon’s Ring Mailbox Sensor and is a much better value! The X-Sense app is easy to use, the choice of ringtones for the X-Sense Base are very nice. The X-Sense app sends realtime notifications to your mobile phone when your mailbox is opened and closed; plus the X-Sense Base pleasantly chimes simultaneously if you choose that setup! The installation took less 10 minutes to install! Well worth the price!

Good system
This is used in a mailbox 400ft away from the receiver and works well. Only downside is sometime getting false alerts caused by passing trucks. It's not all trucks, maybe one a day, but after assuring the rigidity of the mailbox I can't find any way to completely stop this. The system is great and I can usually rule out the false alerts that happen by knowing that my mail delivery is usually after 5pm on this route when very few trucks are going by. Reading the troubleshooting guide I found no advice or adjustment for this quirk. Other than this I would give it 5 stars.

Excellent product, highly recommend. Now that Canada Post is not putting up the red flag we found someone tampering with our mailbox, purchased this item and it works a charm, we know instantly when the mailbox has been opened. You cannot see our house from the road and we are surrounded with trees but the signal comes through just fine. It is nice to have 2 people to set it up, one on the phone app and the other reading the instructions because they are so small you need a magnifying glass. We don't have a router and use my phone as a hotspot, working perfectly. If you have a rural mailbox I highly suggest purchasing this product.
