Rugged Radios Nitro Bee (Race Receiver, Race Receiver)

I took the Nitro Bee receiver to Martinsville this year. I really didn't have 300 dollars for a scanner so I took a chance on this and it worked perfectly! Just tune to the driver frequency you want (theres a list online) and it will pick it up. It even has 2 presets, for example I had MRN and my favorite drivers frequency saved and you can swap back and forth between them! It was clear and I could hear everything the crew and driver said. My only gripe I had is I wish it was a tiny bit louder but that could just be due to the headset I had and because Martinsville is one of the the loudest tracks. Also the battery lasted all race and by the time the race was over I still had 2 bars left. Thank yall for making an affordable product, and I cant wait to use it next year at all the races I go to!

Works great even after a bad kart wreck. Screen cracked and still works to this day.

Work well for go cart racing in quarter midgit series

Love this radio. Good price. I think it has better sound than battery ones. Volume easily adjustable and locks so you can’t accidentally bump it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Bought for my son’s race car. Clear audio and easy to use. Holds a charge for a good amount of time.

Used this for a Nascar race at Daytona. It worked perfectly & I was able to hear the drivers talking to their spotters & pit. Made it easier to follow the race. Great value.

I question the battery life, as it seemed to die before the night was over. Maybe it didn't fully recharge and I will have to double check that. That said, the ear buds are terrible. I finally realized that sound was only coming from one speaker, not both. On top of that, they will not stay in my ear. They just don't fit or stay in place. I have ordered another pair to try.

Edit: The company reached out and gave me a full refund. For that, I have raised it a star because that is extremely important. The radios seem to work but we could not pick up anything except IMSA radio while at the track over one weekend. I can get that through an app on my phone so that is not what I bought this for. I spent hours looking up the frequencies for the different teams and slowly scanning the channels to get to each frequency and nothing. This took hours to do because it seems you can only go up and down through every single frequency. I bought this for my husband’s birthday just for the IMSA races so it was really disappointing to not be able to hear even one team. We will continue to try during different race next season. If we ever figure this out before chunking it into a box in the garage, I will update this review. For now, I start thinking of a gift to get him next year that works.
