Finally a solar book that is user friendly. All the others I have read have been just book knowledge which has not helped in my setup. This book actually walks me through step by step….on how to use a multimeter or how to combine different solar panel types. This is a great resource for me. Thank you Debasish Dutta.

Needs more common terminology and photos for us older folks

There is some decent info in this book, but it is very sparse. A lot of the book explains very basic concepts of electricity or simple tools everyone has. The book was clearly copied from blog posts or a website with little editing - for example, there are hyperlinks with no URLs provided in the printed edition (obviously not clickable) or color graphs printed in black and white, where the lines can't be distinguished as they end up identical shades of gray. This feels like an OK starting point but not enough.

This is a great book to not only learn how to build your own off grid solar solution but really good coverage of basic electronics. The book covers the basic principles of electronics and solar energy technology and gradually builds on what it teaches until you learn how to build an off grid system. It’s well written with good illustrations.
