I used this for the first time only recently - covid having scuppered pretty much any of the small filming projects I would normally have liked to get involved with. Taking it out of the box I felt like I might have benefitted from some kind of engineering degree to put it together but actually it's really pretty easy. The instructions are worth reading as they point out the clamps need to go thin side down - this will make sense if you buy one. Everything is really nicely made except a couple of things. The toothed ring for the follow focus. Horrible. The plastic is simply not flexible enough - not good when it needs to wrap around something snugly. I was fortunate to have had another neewer follow focus from some other kit I had that had a much better toothed ring and this worked fine. The Matte box is also a bit basic. It won't take any filters or anything so only offers a basic fucntions of being able to provide shade. All the metal pieces are really well made and connect togther snugly and securely. The quick release clamps make everything quick and easy to adjust. When fully assembled with the top handle, and with a camera attached, there's a bit of flex in the handle and the large C bracket but nothing too much. With the kind of rigs I'm slinging on this that weigh maybe 2-3kg tops it's really nothing to worry about and the unit feels strong and secure. I really enjoyed using the rig. It was easy to take bits off, like the shoulder pad, should I want to put the camera on a tripod. The follow focus worked well. It felt generally sturdy - nothing came loose over two full days of use and it generally inspired confidence. If I was reliant on the crappy toothed ring that came with it - I'd probably have knocked a star off but I had an alternative - just bear this in mind. But just the rig part itself - thoroughly decent for my pocket 4k.

Solid, well engineered parts. Comfortable to use - just make sure to adjust it for you, which is easy as everything is adjustable! One thing to bear in mind if you are new to this, is that you will almost certainly need a frame mount for your specific camera, if you have any other attachments or need cables in the right place. Of course that is normal, this being an excellent shoulder-mount to build all that on top of.

I did buy this on a whim. It's looks like it will do the job and cheaper alternative to a steadicam.

Fantastic piece of kit. Yes, it is difficult to put together as the instructions aren't all that great, but the images on here help to understand how to put it together. Tip: put the lens cover/flaps on first and not the front handles, despite what the instructions say! Tested this out with the Canon EOS 750D and the footage is really smooth. The handle grips at the front are a bit rough on your hands but you get used to it. Sturdy frame that enables you to get great shots.

All things considered - especially the price - this isn't a bad bit of kit. It's a bit of a faff to assemble and the securing bolts require Thor-like strength to tighten to the required level but once ready to go, it's pretty good and a useful piece of equipment. Two niggles.... 1) The Z bracket that attaches the front section to the shoulder support isn't enough - it creates an unnerving pivot between the two sections and really needs two brackets not one. And 2) the bright pink/magenta fixings aren't to my personal liking - would have been nice to have had an option. Have used it with a Nikon D850 and works OK. Also tried it with the larger Panasonic HC-X1 and worked OK but probably a little beyond its natural capacity.

Well I was excited to get this till I got it,it was hard to get together and once you did it stuck and wouldn’t move,for the life of me I don’t know why you tubers and the reviews here are lying,as someone who is a indie filmmaker and spend ages looking for deals,I tell you to stay away from this product, the day I got it,I ended up getting a review

My conclusion… it barely made a difference. I used some great techniques, locking the arms, shoulders, ninja walk etc, and the gyro data compared to handheld with no help whatsoever from a rig, concluded that there was minimal improvement (maybe because my camera is already light, and the rig was also too light, so completely unnecessary product for these sorts of people in my situation). I feel like if this is the look you want and you need a rig, make sure it is for heavy cameras; small DSLR even with a rig with v mounts etc, it’s not ideal. In this day and age use a gimbal, you can get one for about double the price of this if you go secondhand. You can add additional camera shake in post production, at least that way you can control it, rather than record baked in ‘bad’ shake if that cannot be removed. I also think this Neewer Rig is just poor value, they could have at least thrown in a v mount clip for that price, and explained a little more what all the weird holes in the shoulder pad are, in a straight line, when nothing can be connected in a line lol, maybe put the holes in a grid with spaces that support other products, you know like your own v mount latches. Another guessing game and trying to make a billion products fit together like a jigsaw. If it was a grid of holes a v mount might actually fit with more than one screw holding it down… oh wait, it is this way so we have to buy more attachments from the company, got it!

Wow, I’m amazed. This really is an amazing product, and the build quality is far more superior than I had imagined it would be. I’ve attached photos of this product, and my SHAPE rig, for comparison. The SHAPE rig is £900+ in comparison to the Neewer rig for £100. The SHAPE rig is a bit better (if used with addition monitor mounts), but overall this Neewer rig is an amazing bargain. Might buy a few more!

Was expecting it to be heavier and more awkward, but the aluminium construction lightens the overall load. Pleased with the improved stability in my filming and will help with my ongoing cinematographic training in this field. A very practical piece of apparatus!

持ち手片方だけ締めてもブラブラなものが送られてきました。持ち手は1つづつビニールに入れられてきていましたが、ビニールが違うものだったので、もしかしたら不良で返されたものを送ってきた？と疑いました。CanonのEosを乗せましたが、ネジがきっちり入らず半分入って止まりました。それ以上入らず…ネジ穴、間違っていません。本来は最後まで入って固定出来るはずがガクガク…。クイックシューは外せませんので、他の機材への乗せ換え用に同じものを買わないといけないです。これまで使っていたクイックシューに変えることは出来ませんでした。初期不良の上に不便…と思い返却。不良品を送ってきたということは、送ってしまって返却期限が過ぎるのを狙われた？と思いました。すぐ開封して確認して良かったです。お店への不信感も産まれました。
