Works. good price. PAY ATTENTION TO THE LOAD/LINE ORIENTATION My old GFCI outlets all got cooked during a lightning storm. The old ones had the LOAD input on the same side as the ground connection. These new Amazon basics units are opposite with the LINE input closest to the ground connection. When wired up with the LOAD/LINE reversed, the green LED stays lit but does not deliver power to the sockets. If this happens reverse the wiring from top to bottom. DO NOT SWITCH LEFT TO RIGHT. Black wire to brass screws, White wire to silver screws.

Works like it should. Just pay attention to the load (power in) and line side. It was different from the one I replaced.

I didn’t like this outlet because the terminal screws were a pain to wrap the j hook around. I couldn’t get a good connection. I thought it was me or a faulty wire. I had another outlet on hand with the WAGO levers and it worked perfectly so I assume the outlet I received was defective. For the bad terminal screw design and defective outlet, I gotta hammer this one down on the score. Even if it was a working outlet, what a headache to get the wires on/off. There are better options out there. Just saying.

The previous owners to my home erroneously had a regular electric outlet for their sump pump outlet so I wanted to go ahead and switch it out with a GFCI one (which is what really should be connected) and figured it was a safe bet going with the Amazon Basics one. I had never changed out a GFCI one before, but it’s pretty straightforward. The instructions were easy to follow, make sure you cut the power to the outlet before you switch it out, and you’ll just need a flathead or Phillips head screw driver and a bit of patience. Slightly cheaper than the ones they sold at my local Lowe’s. All-in-all, happy with the product!

I HATE being forced to use these useless GFCI things. Every single name brand outlet thats outside in a proper licensed electrician installed bad has failed in a couple of years. This is my first Amazon Basics one but even if it only lasts as long as the others, at least I’m not spending as much money
