Overall, the TERRAMASTER D6-320 External Hard Drive Enclosure has become an integral part of my setup. It's a reliable, high-performance solution for anyone seeking efficient external storage. Looks great and seems to be reliable
I've had this running with 2 drives for a few weeks now with no issues. It doesn't dampen the noise as well as I'd hoped, but I'm using enterprise WD drives which are just super loud when seeking regardless of what you put them in. The fan itself is almost silent and does a good job of keeping things cool. Speeds are as expected, and the included cable is good quality.

Made of plastic not metal and has sopped working after 2 months
The unit is almost entirely made of plastic, the description is a complete lie saying it is metal. Having said that the unit does work and is nice and quiet. It is a bit slow to start up as it goes to sleep when the discs aren't being used. I don't know what would happen if one of the discs that are mirrored in Raid 1 broke. It was a bit tricky to format the new discs, not easy for someone not confident in computers. I have learned to live with the plastic casing etc. Its best feature is its quiet and works. No USB cable to the computer was provided I need to buy a better one than I had. After 2 months of not working correctly it has now stopped working and I can't access the data on the discs. Do Not buy this disc drive it is totally unreliable

Works perfect for HDD (no installation required)
Does what it says and lets you use multiple internal hard drives from a external enclosure/bay. Problems you could run into: This is only the second external hdd enclosure i have bought and used and I encountered a problem. I pulled my single hdd from a previous single hdd enclosure and installed into this but it refused to let me access the data. To be precise it would not let me even use it as a drive until formating it wiping the data. I did try and see if it was a drive letter issue but windows disk manager did not give me option (greyed out). Just something you should consider or research into if your in the same boat thinkingnout upgrading to another DAS. It is possible however I just dont know how to set up existing hdds.

Excellent value for money DAS.
Excellent value for money DAS. Has been ultra reliable and is very well made. Not to noisy and sleeps the drives when not in use. Looks a little dated if I'm being picky but let's be honest, you don't buy these to display them. Just set it up and hide it away. It does it's job perfectly. No complaints, would recommend.

Not compatible with Windows Server 2019 storage pooling
Bought this for my husband and he wrote this review in case it is useful to anyone: I bought one of these to use in SINGLE mode attached to a Windows Server 2019 machine, with a view to using the Windows Server storage pooling feature to get it working as a simple RAID array. I didn't get it to work in that mode. First off, I attached it to a Windows 10 Pro machine and set it up using the Storage Spaces feature. I put four disks of various sizes in the enclosure - two disks of 2 Tb each, one of 1 Tb and one of 250 Gb. They all showed up properly in Explorer and Disk Manager, and when adding to the Storage Space I had defined, and I was able to add them to the space correctly without trouble. The resulting combined volume size was as expected. All seemed to be well at that point. I then transferred the TerraMaster to the Windows Server. My first observation was that the Windows Server didn't recognise the Storage Space set-up it inherited from Windows 10 Pro at all. Quite the contrary - the fact that the disks were now initialised prevented them from being recognised as part of the Primordial Pool, which is where Windows Server needs them to show up before it allows you to allocate them to a user-defined storage pool. So I reinitialised all the drives in the enclosure and started again from clean. I created a Windows Server 2019 storage pool of my own. The next step would be to add a physical disk to it. Only one of the four physical disks in the TerraMaster appeared as belonging to the Primordial Pool. I would have expected all four to be shown in that list. Anyway, I allocated the one visible disk to my storage pool. So far so good. Another physical disk appeared in the Primordial Pool. I have no idea why it had not been visible there to start with, nor why the remaining two were still not visible. I attempted to add the one visible disk to my storage pool, which would have made two disks in the pool, but Windows Server wouldn't do it - "One or more physical disks are not supported by this operation". So I am stuck with a storage pool which contains only one physical disk. Not only does this leave me short of a lot of the disk space I expected (and needed) to have, it means that I couldn't create a virtual disk within that storage pool, because Windows Server requires at least two physical disks per virtual disk. I looked up various forums and found suggestions: reseating the disks in the enclosure, restarting the server, making sure the disks were properly reset, and changing driver options to make this USB device "feel" less removeable to Windows Server. But nothing I found made any difference. This device is not listed in the Windows Server Catalog, which, while not being definitive, suggests that it isn't compatible. TL;DR This item is suitable for use in SINGLE mode with Windows Pro 10 or Windows Server 2019. It is suitable for use as a RAID array using Windows 10 Pro's Storage Spaces feature. It is not suitable for use as a RAID array using Windows Server 2019's storage pooling. Sent it back for a refund. I didn't use it for long enough to comment on noise levels, heating or other operational characteristics, beyond saying that I didn't notice anything untoward. The appearance of the device is appealing to me, and it felt solid to handle and use.

As stated in the title, if you even breathe in the direction of the cable and the cable going into the USB port on the terramaster moves a little, it drops the connection. Unbelievable, very disappointed.

Szuflady na dysk pozwalaja go zamontować bez narzędzi.
