I really, really love this. I've read many reviews, and like most gel ice/heat packs, the results are mixed about how long it stays hot/cold. Personally, I've decided that the reason for the vast range of experiences has to do with someone's expectations. I have tried both the heat (microwave) and the cold (ice pack) & both work well. I do find that I have to remove it about every 8 minutes or so and pop it back in the microwave for about 1-15 seconds but it is super easy to do. (I use this for an arthritic thumb & use the heat when I apply castor oil to the area to have it penetrate deeper. For this purpose, I try to keep it under the warmth/heat for about an hour. I am still experimenting but the products design lends itself perfectly for me to have the castor oil pack stay securely in place; this is a hard part of the body to treat, so I am very grateful I found this). Sizing: I read many reviews about it being too large (not many of it being too tight - well, not that I recall). I went with a snugger fit and am happy I did - I think this is the one that provided a measurement tool, and I was technically borderline so went with the small). IF this wasn't snug or close to it, I don't think it will work well. I highly recommend for anyone who is not too tied up in the "doesn't stay hot/cold long enough" as to re-heat is easy. And I only used the cold one time so far, and I think the cold stayed cold for longer than the heat stayed hot. p.s. I also love the fact that the heat is a moist heat - so much better than a dry heat produced by like an electric heating pad.

I sprained my right wrist and Walmart doesn't keep size small in stock so I ordered from Amazon. It was delivered the day before yesterday but the box was empty. Customer service prioritized a replacement for me and I received it today. 2 hours in the freezer and voila, temporary relief without ruining another bag of frozen peas (which take longer than 2 hours to refreeze). Thank you Amazon for the speedy replacement! The cold lasts under an hour and the adjustable band adds comfortable pressure. It's an excellent ice pack.

Love this ice pack so much. It gets cold fast and stays flexible so I can still function with it on. Warms up faster than the thick and firm ice packs but it cools off so quickly, I prefer this option.
