Perfect design: comfortable, secure, soft, wraparound Post-Surg shirt!
This little post-surgical shirt is a lifesaver. I had bought one of the inflatable collars for my 18 month old Australian Cattle Dog, and it was a good idea but she removed it too easily. Like all ACDs, she is a hyperactive run-play-catch dog, despite recent surgery. Next I bought one of the traditional “cones of shame,” but a medium was HUGE —it might have been a bit large for a St. Bernard. And so on to the best post-surg protection of all: This PopForPets post-surgical protection shirt. Awesome. The design, construction and soft fabric are perfection. This shirt is as well made as a pricey fashion tee shirt. The way that it goes on allows a comfortable fit for a wide variety of dog shapes and medium weights. The securely sewn Velcro attachments on the shirt that run down the dog’s back and fit the collar to the dog’s neck are generous enough to allow a comfortable fit for pudgy round dogs as well as the dog with an athletic build like mine. The shirt tail tie is perfect to gather the whole thing together at the back for a perfect fit near the tail and allows for perfect adjustment to the size of the dog’s belly and rib cage. And the magic is complete with the red elastic loops that hook behind the dog’s knees to keep the shirt from riding up and exposing the wound site. Bottom line, IT WORKS. It takes all the struggle and anxiety out of protection of the dog’s surgical stitching - day and night. I don’t have to sleep with one eye open, fearing that my girl will remove a cone or inflatable collar during the night and tear into her stitches And my girl seems to love it. It has the same kind of calming effect as those “anti-anxiety” shirts for dogs that I’ve read about. Praises to PopForPets for designing this remarkable “surgery shirt” for dogs, and at an amazingly low price for such a high quality fabric and design.

Must buy. Amazing alternative to the cone!! Best suit
Our dog was spayed the same day we brought her home from the rescue (poor dog; her appointment was scheduled months out). The rescue gave us a plastic home, but our dog hated the cone. She kept rolling in the grass to pull it off, and would scratch herself. Within a few days, her neck started bleeding so we were worried and took her to the vet - turned out the cone irritated and made her skin itchy so she kept using her feet to scratch it and developed a hot spot. Because of the cone, the vet had to shave off part of the fur underneath her neck and she's currently still on antibiotics and the spot on her neck is still healing. This is so frustrating because her neck was perfect when we first brought her home, and the cone injured her. As soon as we found out the cone was irritating her, we quickly researched alternatives online. I LOVE this shirt. My friends commented it looks like a regular shirt and makes Miya look cuter. She doesn't like putting it on, but once it's on she prefers it much more than a cone. She's a 52 lb German Shepherd mix, and the Medium fits her perfectly. The velcro keeps it on her so she can't take it off, and it looks way more comfortable than a cone (and she enjoys it way more). I researched a few different surgery recovery shirts/suits on Amazon, and what I liked about this one is that the reviews all said the dog could do their business (poop and pee) without needing to take off the shirt. I found that to be true here; the shirt did a great job of covering up the sutures where she was spayed, but allowed her to use the restroom without any issues. It also seemed higher quality, and it was really easy to through this in the washer once she was done with it. What was also really great about this is I felt completely comfortable letting her out in the yard and rolling in the grass; scratching herself with her foot, since the fabric did a terrific job of protecting her wound from any germs/bacteria and from her powerful scratching. I wish that it was a full turtleneck so it could also protect the hot spot on her neck while it was healing! When we took her to the vet to get her sutures removed a week later, the vet said her wound had healed up nicely and everything looked great. I attribute that 100% to the shirt! This was the best purchase we've made for our dog, and I honestly wish more folks would use the shirt instead of the cone - it's more dog friendly, more comfortable, and doesn't create hot spots the way the cone does. Highly recommend a surgery recovery suit in general, and specifically I'm a brand new fan of this specific brand. It worked wonders!!

Great shirt, easy to use, easy to come off.
This shirt works really well to protect my dogs elbows and hotspots. I bought three of them in order to you rotate them and keep them clean. It is easy to put on and our dog is very content wearing it. I have to take it off when he goes outside because he can get stuck in the bushes and one of them tore but was easily mendable. The only problem is that the velcro has stopped working which makes this easy to fall off. It needs a more improved, more aggressive Velcro.

Would recommend for peace of mind
This post-op shirt worked well for our female puppy after her spay. We used it in conjunction with an inflatable e-collar as I don't believe the shirt by itself would 100% stop a dog from chewing out its stitches if they really wanted to. But it does provide an additional barrier & distraction as well as keep the wound clean. I also found the shirt restricted her movements just enough to help keep her calm and from jumping around like she normally would. The material is light, soft, and stretchy - it seems very comfortable and not too hot to wear. The velcro straps are sturdy and there is quite a lot of sizing-range within each size (we ordered a small for our 20lb 7mo aussie puppy). The hind leg straps worked ok for her, though this is the one part of the design that does not appear as sturdy. Even so, the shirt works well without them as we didn't even strap the hind leg loops on for a few days and the shirt itself pretty much stayed put. Last but not least, our female dog was able to perform all of her biological functions with this shirt on so we did not have to remove it at all during her recovery time. (I am not sure that would be the case for a male dog.)

So much better that a cone!!!
This is an amazing shirt and extremely useful when trying to protect a wound or even a lick granuloma, etc. I use it intermittently to keep my dog from licking and chewing himself raw due to his summer/fall allergy flare. He is taking Apoquel and cetirizine which are both supposed to last 24 hours but only last 12 hours for my dog during his peak allergy season (weed). I also started him on allergy immunotherapy (allergy "shots") in July. Until the allergy shots have time to work--I am using other methods to keep my dog comfortable. His allergies are so bad that I have had to sit and hold him for an hour or two to keep him from itching/licking b/c it was too soon for his medications. Now, I apply a topical relief lotion, then put his POP shirt on. I don't put the straps around his legs and it just doesn't seem to fit him right so I roll the shirt up to his waist and tie in the back. It doesn't stop all the licking as his feet and hind legs are still exposed but definitely protects his front underarms, legs and belly. I hope the company comes out with a shorter shirt version with velcro to the waist and maybe even something to fit over lower legs independently of the top. Sometimes, he wears it all night but I generally take it off when the medicine and allergy shots are working to give him a break. He wears it when I leave the house. It also offers a degree of comfort and appears to calm my dog, much like the "Thunder Shirt" due to "swaddling". Anyway, no matter what the reason for using, I highly recommend this shirt. It is awesome. It is cotton/lycra-so stretchy-form fitting-machine washable and can be thrown into the dryer.

Great alternative if you can't use a cone!
My dog had surgery to remove two masses, one on his left front leg and one on his neck. His neck incision prevented him from wearing an e-collar and he would NOT leave his leg incision alone. I tried several of my shirts but he would get out of them in the middle of the night and lick his leg. I would take him to work (I'm a vet tech) and have his leg bandaged but the bandaging irritated his sensitive skin and would slip off his little toothpick legs. I ordered a medium for my 45# american staffie mix and it fits perfectly everywhere. It's slightly tight around his neck but nothing worse than how tight his regular dog collar would be. The fabric is so soft and moisture doesn't seem to be able to wick through which is good because I have to apply a topical ointment to his leg twice daily now and I was worried that the shirt was going to absorb it all. He tried to roll around on the floor to get the shirt off (he does that with all dog clothes) the first hour it was on but seems to be tolerating it well now. We're finally both sleeping through the night and my only regret is that I didn't order it sooner!

Decent alternative to a cone.
This worked as expected. Unfortunately, my dog managed to rip it within a few days. My dog is about 60 to 65 pounds and we got a large. I would still consider buying it again to avoid a cone but just may not last as long as expected.

This product is AMAZING..
This product is AMAZING... It's adjustable with velcro up the back, covered the IV areas on the front leg, and covered the spay area on my dogs belly... I liked that you could tie and untie the back end easily to also adjust the fit. The fabric is soft and breathable. my dog was able to potty wearing it with NO problem. And I would have given this a 5 star, however, the back loops for the back legs are NOT reinforced in any way, and rather flimsy.. they ripped out the second day. Perfect product had they taken the tiny bit of extra time to reinforce the back leg tabs, and used stronger material or reinforced that area.... As much as the shirt cost, I expected a more durable product.
