do you remove the shrink wrap from poison?

You aren't supposed to remove it, however, I had no positive results with leaving it on. So, I cut a slice of it on the side and they ate it then. Just be sure to wash your hands really good after handling.

Do mice leave house after eating to look for water like other poisons?

That's the plan. I put the bait out about 3 wks ago & haven't seen any dead mice in the house or garage.
