Healthy and good size population
I got a nice size population of springtails. I divided them up into 3 containers plus the container they came in for a total of four cultures. After about 6 weeks I had more than I needed.

Arrived fast, no dead bugs!
I was a little nervous ordering because temperatures here were hovering between too cold and acceptable but I needed them asap. They arrived faster than the estimated shipping and I couldn’t find any dead ones. Dumped most of them into an enclosure but enough hung on in the clay to explode in population after a few weeks of brewers yeast! Highly recommend!

Moldy. Only 6 live springtail.
Moldy. Not many springtail. For the price it should be teeming with life. I ordered 2 cultures. 1 seems okay this one not so much 😕

Satisfied
Cheap starter culture compared to paying $20+ for basically the same thing as the other temperate springtail cultures as long as you have time to wait for the culture to grow. Started with about 9 springtails. Fed them fleischmans active dry yeast for about $2 for 3 packets. Warning : you feed them this yeast their numbers will multiply by the hundreds in about a week lol.. other reviews claim they face mites after adding to enclosures I see no mites in my culture but I keep the container closed and pop the lid once every 2 days as to keep some oxygen in there and let all the gas out that builds up because of the mold. Also don't breathe in the fumes that will flow out of the container when u open the lid. It's literally mold these bugs eat. All in all highly satisfied with the results. Thank you

I am impressed
My order showed up quickly. There were dozens of live springtails in each container. I turned the containers upside-down with lids off inside my tegu enclosure and flicked the bottom a few times to knock all the live springtails off and into my enclosure. I then misted and added some springtail feed and closed them back up. I checked daily and for the first few days to about a week it seemed the culture was done but I know they can take some time. After about 10 days they are loaded with 100s of babies, hopefully I can keep them producing for several rounds as that will help in seeding an 8x4x4 enclsoure with 1ft of soil depth. Please don't assume if they come with a small amount of springtails that the seller did wrong. The point of a culture isn't about getting live springtails, that's a bonus, but not what you are buying. Lightly mist, degas it daily, keep it moist, and keep feeding and in a week or 2 you should see the clay infested with babies. Let the babies grow before adding to your enclsoure that way they can seed the next round of babies. This can go on indefinitely so long as you can keep the clay alive.

Nice healthy culture
I received a culture with lots of live springtails, and they very quickly multiplied. I have a very healthy colony now that I can use to replenish my bioactive setup at any time.

Lots of live springtails
Plenty of tiny springtails. Good price. Was able to divide and have plenty for 2 two-gallon terrariums. It's been 6 weeks or so and my terrariums have no mold or rotting leaf matter. They're growing great!
