Easy DIY replacement
I replaced my cogs, motor coupling, and clutch assembly. Below is my review for that, just in case it's helpful. If you're lucky enough to be doing the cogs only, it's really easy to do. Go watch a video or two on YouTube and you'll be all set. I noticed a substantial improvement in the agitator when I replaced my cogs, even though they weren't broken or completely worn out yet. It's a cheap and really easy way to get better performance from your washer. There are great YouTube videos online showing you how to do this and you absolutely must watch a few of them before you try this. My washer made a grinding noise and didn't spin the drum or agitate. I've had this washer for about 13 years and this is the first repair I've had to make, other than the time a sock somehow got into the pump. It has had very heavy use for all of its life so I'm not surprised it broke. I believe the root cause of my failure was the direct drive motor coupling but I'm not sure because it may also have been something in the clutch assembly because I did see some significant wear. Also, my agitator cogs were quite worn and I noticed a substantial improvement in the vigor of the agitator after I swapped them out. I decided to replace the clutch assembly, direct drive motor shaft coupling, and the agitator dogs/cogs. I bought all the items on Amazon and once I had them together, I began my adventure. I didn't remove the metal shell around the washer tub like I see in the videos, I just tipped it back, drained the water out, and did all the work from the bottom and inside the drum. Again, watch videos on YouTube. I pity the fool who tries this without looking at videos and hopefully you're more adept with appliances than I am. Aside from my pictures, these are my tips to others: Picture 1-3) The motor couplings I purchased were very tight fitting. I think they were likely machined to the same size and they don't, in any way, just slip on. I used a short spark plug socket end from my toolset and a hammer to get both motor couple ends on and it was vigorous hammering. The old one popped off fairly easily from the motor end, which I could see where the metal ring inside the coupling splintered or did something bad. Aligning the two couplings with the black rubber intermediary worked better for me when I put it on the motor end and then slid it onto the transmission. Also, older models may not have a metal reinforced piece inside the white nylon portion but mine did so be aware it might look different than the picture. Picture 4-5) Replacing the clutch assembly requires dropping the transmission and the drive shaft out the bottom of the washer and you have to remove some pieces inside the drum. Keep track of what piece goes where because I managed to get my pieces out of order, only to realize the locking ring I thought went in the drum was actually in the clutch assembly. I got to redo the entire replacement process and I wasn't happy about it. I was a lot faster the second time though. Final thoughts - be prepared to get dirty. Lots of grease, pet hair, and nastiness accumulates. This translated to me not being able to watch the YouTube videos as I went along. I wore gloves for some of it because of the sharp edges of the sheet metal but needed more dexterity so took them off and got nasty. Slot about an hour or two for this work max.

Perfect Fit, Worked great!
I googled why the agitator in my (older) Whirlpool washing machine was not working. Search suggested the "dog ears" were worn or broken. I checked the agitator, confirmed it was able to turn in both directions. The dog ears' purpose is to prevent the agitator from turning in both directions. It is a stop mechanism. I took apart the agitator (so easy) and the "dog ears" were both worn and broken. Straight to Amazon and for $5.50 my agitator is working perfectly. Took me less than 5 minutes to install the new dog ears, reassemble and install the agitator. I did not need the tools to remove the broken dog ears, the black retaining ring lifts off and allows for removal of the worn/broken parts, new parts just slip right in. There is only one bolt, remember to put it back in, you will need a 7/16 socket and a long extension to remove & reinstall the bolt. These worked perfectly! Thank you Amazon!

Great value
Fits Admiral (Whirlpool) ATW4475VQ0 washer Agitator stopped working and online videos showed these "dogs" likely needed replacement. Ordered this pack and made the repair following youtube guides. Super easy for my washer model. These are thick plastic and seem sturdy enough. The old ones (see pics) were pulverized. I had no issues installing and they look to be the correct size and shape. I will note during hand testing it appears anywhere from 1-4 of the "dogs" engage on the teeth at any given time. I noticed sometimes only 1 would catch, sometimes 2 or 3. Rarely all 4 seem to grab at once. (See included video) I have no idea if this is normal or not and have not seen it mentioned in any repair video. Perhaps tightening the bolt centers the ring allowing it to catch all four. However, I can say that even with just 1 catching, the agitator moves as intended. I will see how it holds up long term. As for now, I did a test load and washer ran as normal. No unexpected noises, etc. Excellent value.

Gracias
