Bought this for my elderly mother who uses Ooma. Seems like a great phone for the elderly. It's missing caller ID but you can use another phone or device if you want that.I like the volume (loud ringer and handset volume), flashing red indicator light while ringing, one-button calling with the speed dial (don't even have to pick up the handset because it will use the speakerphone).It seems like it was well thought out.And yes, there is a ringer volume control but you only get high, low, and off. High is really loud.I will update this review if anything changes.

So far, so good. Phone stored numbers without issue, hooked up to VOIP box, makes calls with clarity, and has very loud ringer. Photo memory pictures are on the small side, but I was expecting that. Seems very easy to use without confusing buttons.

Bought this phone for my elderly mother in law based on the site saying that it had a loud adjustable volume on it and it does. Works perfect, easy to use and best of all my mother in law can hear the other person on the line.

We purchased this phone for our 97-year-old mother. She doesn't hear or see well. She can see the numbers easily, and hear using the speaker option. She loves the speed dial feature so she can quickly call us. This phone is just great for all those reasons. We hooked it up to Consumer Cellular's Verve Home Base which made it essentially a easy to use cell phone. We were happy that she would be able to hear messages and replay them until she understood them. That is where the snag is. The instructions for the phone make retrieving messages easy with the marked buttons IF IT IS A LANDLINE. But it is a cell phone, so the instructions are different. It was hard to convince her to retrieve messages by the method the customer service folks at Consumer Cellular told her to do instead of the buttons on the phone. She will get used to listening to her messages with way. New technology is always hard when things were so simple in the old days.

Great large button phone. The programable speed dial buttons are perfect for seniors or persons that have difficulties remembering numbers or how to use a phone (such as stroke victims). You can custom the auto-dial buttons with labels or pictures. (size your pictures to .76 inches high by .83 inches wide). The optional voicemail does not have to be used. If you do not use it, the phone simply hangs up if the call goes unanswered. The ringer has an adjustable volume button, as does the handset volume. We are currently using this in an assisted living environment, and it has made communication so easy for all involved. It was a great transition from a smartphone designed for seniors.

This phone does not have caller id. Seniors receive ton's of spam calls so that is a necessary feature that I missed when I purchased this phone. Plus the speaker quality is not that great.

I bought this phone for my mother who is in assisted living. She said it was the best phone she had ever owned and is so easy to use. the only drawback is that the ringer volume only has three settings, high, low, and off and low is still a bit too loud. I wish the ringer volume was a bit more adjustable. Great phone overall.

After a stroke, a very independent family member could no longer dial their home phone nor use a tv remote and similar devices. We quickly researched and ordered this phone. The quality is great. It’s easy to program and most importantly, the one touch picture dialing has helped regain some independence for our family member. We are thankful to Vtech for this device.
