excellent homekit switch. installation was easy and took maybe 5 min (once i untangled all the wires that were inside the box). once installed, it essentially auto added itself to my apple home app and it was done. same happened when i opened the tapo app so i could take care of things like firmware (which an update was needed). once installed/ready to go, have had no issues with using it. handles my recessed lights without issue (both at the switch and via the homekit app). i do wish there was a way to make the light up feature when the light is off a bit brighter, but that is a nit. one thing i have found with all smart home switches is while they work great with the switch plates they come with, when pairing them with another switch plate, they never seem to fit right. the same is true here. i added this to a 3 gang box so plenty of space for the wires, but when it comes time to add the cover plate, the switch isnt flush (it sits further into the box). there isnt a great way to adjust it as adding shims than pulls the cover plate away from the way. i have learned to live with it, but it is annoying.

I’ve been using these Kasa smart switches in my bedroom for everything and they easily turn off and turn on the fan lights to the bedside lamps, and they’ve been working flawlessly. They connected and were compatible with Alexa with no hassle, and now I can control everything with my voice or from my phone, makes life a lot easier, especially at night. They were easy to install, work exactly like they’re supposed to, and for the price, the durability has been great. Very happy with the product, these were a great value. Just a solid upgrade for making the house a little smarter without breaking the bank.

Works well. Install is easy enough. However, the face plate is snaps on with plastic clips - so get it right the first time because I'd bet that, with age, or with a few removals of the face plate, the tiny plastic retainers / clips on it will break off. My only peave: the HomeKit scan sticker for scanning is not attached to the face plate, rather it was floating around in the bag. The scan symbol on the box and on the instructions is different and it does not work. That was a waste of 20 minutes until the proper sticker was found.

Yes! This switch is truly Apple HomeKit compatible. Setup using either the Kasa App or just using the Apple Home App was easy. I'm instantly able to control the lights using Siri voice commands, the physical toggle on the switch or using integrations between my HomeKit compatible home security system and my Apple Home App's Automations feature. I specifically purchased this switch for that reason: Home alarm triggers and I can turn on all HomeKit lights in my home.

I bought these switches 2 years ago, they’ve been working flawlessly, and were taking them with us in a move. We’ve gotten so used to using them through Siri that after removing them, we still catch ourselves asking Siri to turn off the lights haha. They’re also very nice for checking to make sure all the lights are off at home remotely, but also for setting up automations like turning the bedroom light on in the morning to help us wake our tired butts up. In terms of set-up, we live in a much older building (built in the late 30’s), and the electrical infrastructure reflects that, but they were still very easy to install and didn’t put up much of a fuss. The light switch itself may prove a snug fit, but in the end everything was able to be nicely tucked away in the wire box. The un-obtrusive status light on the switch is also very nice, as it’ll let you know immediately if it’s having issues communicating with the hub. In the very rare instances this occurred, a simple click of the Reset button (accessible without having to take anything apart) would always do the trick. Overall, I’ll keep using these smart switches as long as I can. Even if I transition out of Apple’s ecosystem, these still work in plenty of other smart home systems.
