Grade 3 Multiplication (Kumon Math Workbooks)

This is a great book for helping your child to learn their tables- it introduces the concept of multiple addition and works through from the introduction of the concept, the tables themselves and on to memory of the sums. It only goes up to 9x tables which is frustrating as my son's school teaches- 2x 5x 10x then 3x 4x 6x etc It also is the American method of the sums so traditionally in the UK we use the 1x2=2 2x2=4 3x2 and so on-whereas the Americans and other countries teach 2x1=2 2x2=4 2x3=6 and so on, so it may not match the style your child is learning their tables in It does match my son's school's method and he has rapidly progressed with this book.

I love the Kumon range and have been using them to supplement what my daughter has been learning in maths at school. Each book starts out revising simpler stuff and focuses on repetition to teach. I recommend the range, especially for topics your child might be struggling with.

If look through my other reviews you would know that I was buying Kumon series books for my twin daughters from the very beginning. In general they are quite good and supplement school very well. If you can establish routine (do one page a day no matter what), it is a great alternative to paying upwards 60£ per month per subject for official Kumon classes. It will require considerable time investments from your part though. Anyway, to the subject of this particular book. It does the job quite well -- starts with multiple additions, then proceeds with 3 pages of exercises per number with some intermediate reviews. My year 3 daughters found the task to be just of right complexity. The only drawback is that it covers numbers from 1 to 9, while, I believe, in school the time tables extend from 1 to 12. Still this is a minor point for me

Excellent delivery time. Ordered on Friday, delivered on Monday. Very good book. I was advised my a friend who swears by these book and has provided her child with an excellent understanding of the subjects covered. A member of my family also recommends these books. As my child grows I will continue to purchase Kumon books as they are child friendly and structured to build the child's understanding of the subject.

My kid loved working through this book. Strange magic!!! Her knowledge and understanding increased greatly as well.

Kumon books are excellent to give your child an extra edge in Maths and English. Using it for years now.

It's an easy step by step guide to learning times tables

My 5th grader has struggled so much with multiplication since 3rd grade, partly due to stubbornness and also partly due to so little practice/drills/repetition in school. This workbook has helped her master 2-10 tables in just a matter of about 6 weeks. She knew a few already, but this workbook has really helped her fill in the gaps and has boosted her confidence so much. She’ll still need to keep reviewing them to help them stick long-term. I really liked the format of giving the student all of the information in the first lesson, and then slowly taking away a little bit of info at a time with each following lesson so the student has to start filling it in themselves. I also like that some of the review lessons cover everything learned previously. I'm so glad I bought this workbook. I bought a second one to help my third grader when she starts learning multiplication.

Very helpful and many examples which is difficult to get in single book. Usually every book is divided in word problems, number problems, time and date, measurement etc. This one book I got has simply multiplication probs with varying number length and this is what i wanted for my son.
