Airelec SJ3A016 Maglite Solitaire LED Flashlight - Black

I've tried several maglites over the years, as well as some other aluminium-barreled flashlights, and I really do think with the 'Solitaire LED' they have perfected the keychain flashlight. Here's lots of reasons why: * reasonable price, not overkill like the flashlights with flashing pattern modes etc * very good battery life - I've had mine for many months now and not needed to replace the single AAA battery. I do use it almost every other day for a few minutes while fumbling in the dark, lighting up a path, walking from the garage, etc * very usable brightness - make sure you purchase the 'Solitaire LED' and not the older 'Solitaire' * a good neutral white colour output, not like some flashlights which have a blue tinge on the edges * very slim yet allows for low-cost batteries - unlike some flashlights which use expensive 12V cells, this one can take a AAA battery. However, I don't trust Duracells because they tend to leak. I ditched the Duracell and replaced it with an AAA Energizer Lithium battery (here is a pack of 8: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BQY36SM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) which will last twice as long as the Duracell anyway. I feel Duracell is more about marketing than innovation these days. * Nice all-round design. You can hold and twist it on/off with one hand, and focus it by twisting too. Also it comes with a reasonable length (about 8cm) of woven lanyard type thing for attaching to a key ring or jeans. I like this flashlight so much that I've purchased several as gifts for friends who are always fumbling around in the dark. It is lightweight enough to always carry it on keys or in a handbag. And perfect for life UK when it gets dark early. Over time the raw colour of the aluminium can become visible in places since it is in close proximity to metal keys in a pocket, but this is to be expected. It doesn't really detract from the product. Regarding colours, the grey one is a really nice colour, but it costs more sometimes. The black is just classic, and I use that one. I have purchased the red and blue ones too as gifts, and the red is actually a very deep reddish/pink colour, and the blue is a very nice shade, not quite electric blue but close. However my favourites are grey and black.

With the LED, this torch is now many times brighter that the original Solitaire and is more than adequate for everyday uses. It takes a single AAA battery, which are cheap and easy to obtain, and it is very small (8cm long), so can be attached to a keyring. Due to it's size, if not attached to a keyring, I would recommend a wrist strap (not provided but can be purchased or made from a length of thin cord), to avoid dropping it. Reasonable price at the £10 I paid, but too expensive at the full price of £20.

Comes with a battery. Slips in your pocket or small enough to go on a key ring. Accidentally put this through the washing machine. Completely unaffected and works perfectly so waterproof too and durable. Quality torch!

Bright small torch and great on a keyring. Very bright at 37 lumens and well built. I bought the led lenser P3 and the thrunite Ti3 along with this and from personal prefrence i would rate the P3 best, it has a better field of view and can be adjusted the quickest. Dullest of the three at 16 lumens. The Thrunite Ti3 is the brightest of all three with diffent levels of light given in the various modes up to 85 lumens. Samllest of the three. All 3 are well designed its just down to preference of what you need and like.

I've had a Solitaire for years. Yeeeeeaaaaaaaarrrrssssss. It tucks in beside my Leatherman nice and snug. It was always available for having a squint under the stairs or under the sofa. Then a friend presented me with a LED Lenser V8 which blew the Solitaire out of the water. I recently found the Solitaire again and considered converting it to LED as a project. After a bit of research, this looked to be expensive and most internet torch gurus pointed to just buying the new LED Solitaire. Wow. This is a seriously bright torch, not just for it's size but in comparison with many hand-held examples. The LED Lenser is now lying beside my original Solitaire and the LED Solitaire is my new 'chosen one'. The only downside is the battery life - under 2 hours with a 'copper coloured top' in - but AAA are easy enough to find if you need a replacement. ***update*** Is very difficult to get the light to turn on, there's a tiny 'sweet spot' but a slight shake and the LED goes dark again. I've replaced it with an Olight i3E EOS which is only £10 and tiny.

This is a well-made very bright tiny torch perfect to have with you at all times in case of unexpected need, or short frequent use like keyholes in darkness. My last one was ruined because a battery leaked in it because I left it unused for a couple of years - my fault! This replacement LED version seems brighter, and the battery to last longer but watch out for changing batteries regularly before they leak.

This perfect little torch sits on my keyring every day without wearing a hole in my pocket. And when I need it, it is exceptionally bright for the size and a massive improvement on the old filament bulb version. Very nice, long range beam and lots of clear, well-balanced white LED light. Bought because I work in places where the lights can go out without warning, and I need something reliable within arm's reach. Does the job smartly.

significantly better output than the original. Simple to operate, twist and hey presto. AAA battery to power is a bonus, no messing with hundreds of watch batteries, cheap and easy to source. No bells and whistles, no strobe effect electronics to go wrong, no push button to accidentally get pressed in your pocket. Sturdy construction, simplistic to use, great output for such a small torch. Great for pocket, pouch or keyring. would recommend!

Nachdem ich gut 20 Jahre das gleiche Modell ohne LED benutzte, abgesehen von drei Glühlampenwechseln durchgehend gut und immer noch funktionsfähig, sollte nun der Umstieg auf die neue Technik LED erfolgen um etwas mehr Lichtausbeute bzw. Leuchtdauer zu erhalten. Die Maglite scheint noch genauso Wertig produziert zu werden wie vor Jahren, nichts wackelt, die Gewinde sind sauber geschnitten, alles ist bündig, der kleine O-Ring unter der Kappe am hinteren Ende sitzt gut und die Eloxierung des Aluminiumgehäuses gestaltet sich makellos. Die LED-Version überrascht mit einem sehr hellen Lichtkegel für die kleine Lampe. Dien Angabe von 37 Lumen glaube ich damit gerne. Schlieren oder sonstige Beeiträchtigungen lassen sich auf der Projektionsfläche nicht finden, was auf die Verwendung einer hochwertigen Leuchteinheit bzw. eine gute Qualitätskontrolle hindeutet. Der Lichtstrom selbst ist leicht blaustichig, was vor allem im Verhältnis zum weichen orangeweissen Ton der Glühlampen Version aggressiver auf das Auge wirkt. Die Leuchtdauer beträgt über eine Stunde, was bei der Lichtausbeute und der einzelnen kleinen Batterie erstaunt. Einziges Manko ist der Verschluss am hinteren Ende der Lampe, wenn man diesen mit einem Schlüsselring versehen am Schlüsselbund trägt, kann es (im Laufe der Zeit) passieren, dass sich das Gewinde lockert und man den vorderen Lampenteil mit Batterie verliert oder einem die Teile zumindest auseinanderfallen.

Non c'è moltissimo da dire nel senso che il prodotto non è una novità, anzi, è collaudatissimo, molto robusto affidabile. Lo ho comprato come regalo sostitutivo della versione precedente: una Maglite solitaire di colore rosa elettrico, colorazione non presente nella versione a LED. Per chi non lo conoscesse il prodotto è una torcia lunga otto centimentri e di diametro pari grosso modo ad una comune penna per scrivere. È interamente realizzata in alluminio, quindi leggera come una piuma e resitentissima. È formata da tre parti: il corpo in cui, posteriormente, si avvita il tappo che chiude la cavità per la pila mini stilo, fornita in dotazione, e la parte davanti che si avvita anch'essa ma che fa da interruttore e fuoco variabile. In sostanza svitando la parte anteriore la torcia si accende e continuando a svitare il fuoco del fascio luminoso varia permettendo così di regolarne a piacimento le caratteristiche. L'intensità luminosa, davvero niente male per una torcia così piccola, rimane sempre uguale, quello che varia è il punto dove si concentra la maggior parte della luce. Questo modello viene venduto in una confezione blister di plastica trasparente che comprende anche un semplice libricino con la garanzia, una pila, come già detto ed un pratico laccio dotato di un piccolo anello portachiavi ad entrambe le estremità, ciò fa si che la torcia possa essere utilizzata come portachiavi o aggiunta al proprio portachiavi o appesa. Rispetto al modello precedente la qualità costruttiva è invariata, completamente in alluminio e dotata di guarnizioni di gomma alle parti che si avvitano, questo è importante perchè anche sotto la pioggia la torcia continuerà a funzionare. Il fascio luminoso è, per essere una torcia così piccola, alimentata da una batteria mini stilo, molto intenso e la luce è bianca, inoltre, cosa da non trascurare per nulla, il LED consuma pochissimo. Questo è importante perchè in genere questo tipo di torce sono utilizzate all'improvviso e in caso di necessità e non tutti stiamo a controllare che la pila sia sempre carica. Una batteria durerà letteralmente anni. Esistono altre torce prodotte da marchi concorrenti che sono anche di pari qualità ma MAGLITE è un marchio serio, conosciuto ed affidabile ed inoltre come nel mio caso per un piccolo regalo è garanzia sia di qualità ed anche di riconoscibilità.
