A good, fun, comprehension book for youngsters.
This is the first book I have bought in this series. I think I will buy others in the series because my 5 year old grandson enjoyed doing the comprehension one, and they are fine for a little home schooling. A good price too.

Really good
Great for taking out when going to restaurants. Keeps the kids happy while they're learning too! Covers all relevant areas in an easy to learn way.

Great for weekly homework
Cheap and cheerful. Good practice to build comprehension for little one in KS1. As a teacher I think it's got a good range of genres of texts and questions.

Unexpected hit
This has been more of a hit than I thought it could be. I would recommend for extra practice, am introduction to comprehension or for those children who read and don't seem to retain what they've read. My daughter enjoys doing this after initial reluctance (it's new, it's different, it's "work"). The texts are interesting and varied. Some are funny. The questions are colour coded by type which is helpful. I thought this was appropriate for a year 1 child and a good foundation before moving on to the more challenging "Comprehension Success Starter Book" by James Driver.

Useful
I’ve loved this for home-schooling during lockdown as it involves reading and writing. It contains different types of texts, which get progressively longer. I would have liked a few more pages to complete and I thought one or two questions, were too hard for the level (eg putting words in alphabetical order using more than the first letter). I found it was mostly interesting and spot on for my son’s level. It was a good introduction to the features of types of text.
