Rocket 4 Plus-G Advanced

I bought this to try and get ahead of the game (no pun intended), as it was time to upgrade my boot drive to a larger capacity boot drive. But also, with "future" proofing, as this is supposedly optimized with DirectStorage--and another reviewer has already talked about that. It's an API that isn't fully utilized yet, but promises so much if more developers jump onboard.Can we please, just not ignore how "extra" the packaging is for this. Once you open the cardboard box, you're greeted with a metal case that has a holographic affect as you see on the sticker on the advertisement for this. Just in case you need to be reminded that this is a premium, high-end PCIe Gen 4 NVMe drive. As with any M.2 drive, installing is a breeze and there's nothing much to say there--forewarning, I did not notice a screw for installing it, so you may have to rely on any that you're already using, or that comes with your motherboard if this is for a new build.Speed-wise. I have a feeling that a lot of companies may heavily rely on, and use results, from Crystal Disk Mark. So I have included results from that, and speeds seem to be spot-on as advertised. But I decided to use some other tools that might offer more realistic expectations--transferring a hefty blu-ray RIP (from my personal collection).Regardless, this is still a snappy drive, that matches the competition, and depending on the day--might be a bit cheaper, or a lot cheaper. I purchased this with a 20% off voucher. I'd highly recommend it.

Great NVME SSD, very quick and plenty of storage capacity at a good price.

Thicker than all other nvme drives that I currently have and it shows why. Speed and performance are off the charts. Nothing comes close to the theoretical limitations of Gen4 like this nvme. Though being on the pricey side of things, you will get everything from this product. Worth all the eddy's spent.

Received this product as a new item. Upon opening said product the chrome surface was covered in scratches with wear and tear. Not impressed. Having seen previous comments its likely this is a used product I have been shipped. Will be returning and refunding.
