25 Dexcom Adhesive Patches for G4|G5|G6 by Sticky Patch (Dexcom G4|G5)

Two of my 10-year olds have T1D and they both wear a Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitor. On the recommendation of their endocrinologist we place their CGM sensors on the back of their upper arms. Without these adhesive patches their CGM sensors would not last the whole 10-days they are meant to, and that includes during swim season. Full disclosure - I also use a layer of Skin-Tac to ensure everything stays put. I have tried other adhesive patches in combination with the Skin-Tac and I can say without a doubt these are the best CGM patches out there.Application of these patches is a breeze thanks to the pre-cut backing which allows for one half of the patch to be positioned correctly before laying down the other half. I have never had to start over again due to the patch sticking to itself. The cut-out for the CGM sensor is the perfect size and the elasticity makes it easy to apply around the sensor and transmitter.The steps I take are:1) Clean the back of the arm including the area the patch will touch (or wherever you plan to place the CGM sensor w/transmitter) with a cotton ball dipped in rubbing alcohol. Allow to dry completely.2) Apply a thin layer of Skin-Tac to that same area.3) Immediately apply/insert the CGM sensor then click in the transmitter, following the Dexcom instructions.4) Peel of one half of the adhesive patch backing and apply to skin (I do this as quickly as possible, while the Skin-Tac is still wet).5) Remove the other half of the patch backing and lay down on skin.6) Gently rub patch in an outward circle 2-3 times to ensure maximum adhesion.Removal of these patches is made easy with the use of Uni-Solve adhesive remover. Soak the patch and let sit for 5-7 minutes, then slowly peel everything off. Pain-free for my kiddos. You can also peel the adhesive patches off without that product; we’ve found it is best to do so after a bath or shower, while the patch is still wet.Don’t hesitate, these really are the best CGM adhesive patches out there!

Daughter and son both love using these with their Dexcom G6 sensors They stay put! No need for Skin-Tac. They aren’t specifically made for any one model of the Dexcom sensors. Not a problem! They have plenty of stretch and give. This is a review written in winter. Kids aren’t in and out of pools like they would be in the summer, but currently they last the 10 days with normal day to day activity (& then some = son plays soccer and daughter rides horses) and bathing. I imagine they’ll work just as well in the summer months. Will buy these again!

This adhesive patch is great used with Skin Tac for ALMOST a week tops, but then it peels off with showers every other day. I wish it had more staying power, but it is comfortable.

After a while, these also start to come off even when skin tac is applied. The edges start to lift but the rest remains in place. Can cut it to a desirable shape if needed. The feel of it is material-like, not plastic-y....don’t know if that’s a pro or con for you, I don’t mind it.

I'm a tough critic, but the item does achieve its purpose. It almost always fall off when you swim in the ocean or a pool. I trim mine down on the edges because its too wide. The adhesive is ok, but could be better and stay on longer.

These are great! They last the full 10 days that my g6 sensor does, and that’s after doing Jiu Jitsu 3 times a week (as well as running and lifting twice a week). No matter what amount of sweat, this thing does the job. I’m relatively new to the diabetes game, so this is the first of its kind for me, but I’m very satisfied with this product. Great price point, easy to apply, and does what they say it does. That’s all I can ask for.

These patches are terrible. Do not buy them! The bascially start peeling off within a few hours and forget about trying to shower with them. They soak up so much moisture that they saturate the original adhesive area of the G6 sensor so when you go to take the large patch off it is dangerously close to pulling the sensor off! The attached photo was taken 4 hours after the patch was applied!

There are a number of brands to choose from for this product, all claiming to be the best. This one, for me at least, and results vary from person to person, has proven to have very good, very waterproof and long lasting adhesive. It survives taking a shower, body sweat and constant rubbing against your clothing. It holds up and continues to do its job for better than two weeks, which is what I need from it. So I will stay with it.
