excellent mop
Prior to buying the Addis Superdry Plus Mop, I owned a cheaper version of the similar one sold by JML - bought for around a fiver from Wilkinsons. That mop did a reasonable job but took forever to soften prior to use and eventually the telescopic handle failed meaning I could not use it with the pole extended. As Wilkinsons don't appear to sell these mops any longer, I was going to replace it with the JML mop, however, I then discovered the Addis Superdry Plus Mop and bought that instead (I wouldn't even have considered the Addis plain sponge "Superdry" mop - I have one of those in the garden which I thought might possibly be useful for painting the deck or something as it was no good whatsoever for cleaning floors and incidentally Addis, why have you given two totally different products almost identical names - not confusing in the least that!) In any event, back to the actual review - the Addis Plus mop is a world of difference to my old Wilko mop - for a start it seems to be far sturdier, the sponge head softens a lot quicker meaning it's ready to go in a couple of minutes and it's angled making it far, far easier to use. As a bonus it also does a pretty good job of actually cleaning the floor - and it does it quickly, leaving it almost dry in the process. I had been considering buying a steam mop for floors but this is so good I don't think I will bother now. I can't comment or compare it to the JML mop as I've never actually used a real one but I can thoroughly recommend the Addis Plus Mop and if it does ever break I will get another one.

Triggers broom has nothing on my addis mop
If Trigger from Only Fools and Horses was proud of his 20-year-old broom with 17 new heads and 14 new handles, then I should get a knighthood for services to Addis. I bought my first Addis mop thinking, “This is it. This is the one.” It was brilliant—left the floor clean, shiny, almost dry. The kind of finish that makes you admire your own hallway like you’re in a Flash advert. Life was good. We were happy. We had a bond. Then it broke. No problem, I thought. Things wear out. I went straight out and bought another. That’s when the mop saga turned into a tragicomedy. First, the handle snapped. Just gave up mid-swipe. I thought, must be a one-off. Bought another handle. Then the sponge head started flying off like it was ejecting itself from a fighter jet. Every time I mopped, I had to stop, pick it up, and reattach it like I was pit crew at a sponge-based Formula One race. Still, I stayed loyal. I thought, maybe it was a faulty head. Got a new one. Then the handle broke again. So I fixed it with duct tape, willpower, and a mild threat. It became a routine: mop, reattach head, fix handle, mop again, repeat until floor is clean or patience runs out. By this point I was less of a mop user, more of a mop mechanic. Eventually I caved and bought yet another new set—handle, heads, the lot. Same problems. It was like déjà vu, but soggier. I didn’t get a certificate like Trigger for my long-term commitment, just blisters and a suspiciously large pile of broken parts in the shed. In the end, I had to break up with the Addis mop. A sad parting, because when it worked, it really did the job well. But after three handles, 15 sponge heads, and more emotional baggage than a cancelled Ryanair flight, I had to move on. RIP, Addis. It’s not me. It’s you.

They are excellent at washing and then pick up a lot of ...
I have been using this type of mop for a few years. They are excellent at washing and then pick up a lot of the water when running over the area with the mop head squeezed dry. I have found it to the best mop I've ever used. I would have given it five stars apart from two problems. 1) The spongy pad can peel away from the plastic holding it quite easily, usually one end at a time. I now let the mop dry out, give the plastic part a wipe over and then use a strong waterproof adhesive to stick the two parts together. 2) This mop has changed, only subtly and you can't tell the difference from a cursory glance, however the latest refills only fit the newer version. This is why I have to buy new entire mops rather than just the refills which is a pain as I had three mops for different the different products I used for my stone floor, wooden floors, and porcelain tile floors.

Disappointing
Bought 2 of these 1 for upstairs and 1 for downstairs. Both of them kept having the head drop off ( remedied by putting in split pins to replace the original plastic ones ) The other problem is one of the sponges keeps coming off. However they do clean well. Definitely won’t be buying again. Not a patch on the JML ones that I used for years

Always and only an Addis mop
This latest Addis mop is a repeat because my first Addis mop did a terrific job. It's simple to use and very easy to rinse. I like that the handle is telescopic, it fits easily in my rather short broom/mop store cupboard in the kitchen.
