Well made, comes oilled to protect the steel. Be careful when loosening up the protractor, it has nice tight machining but starts stiff, likely need to work oil in. BUT if you loosen the setting screw too much it will fly off since its spring loaded!

Add a 16inch ruler and lower the price by 12%

The nuts in the head were a little but of a pain to get the ruler in but I got it. Seems heavy duty compared to the last plastic brass set I had. I hope it lasts, I use it everyday at work verifying angles on steps and doing layout for other parts of the flight.

This set is very heavy, and looks really pretty on first impression. I only unwrapped the combination square head and the ruler & assembled those together. The combination square slot was machined out of square, so when you clamp the thumb wheel down, it is out of square. Mine was out 1mm in 4" of run. It's a shame, as it was a nice looking set, but I think the whole idea is "precision" for a set like this, so it went back for refund.
