Sonic Frontiers Switch

I have been a Sonic fan for at least 20 years now and I can easily say it is one of my favourite titles so far. It keeps the old formula but adds new elements that keep it fun and fresh. The graphics on the switch aren't quite as good on other consoles but it's definitely worth it.

Got it sooner than I expected. I’ve always wanted this game when it came out but didn’t want to pay a lot for it, it was a decent price and an awesome game!

Great game for the grandchildren at a good price

Great Sonic game. Framerate could be better, but not bad considering its on Switch. Worth a buy for that cheap price.

One of the best sonic games of all time. Must buy. The gameplay is great, cyberspcae is great, though the controls could have been better, the combat is great and the story is the best we've seen in the franchise.

Got lots of play out of it

I feel a open world sonic game in a style that feature some what of a RPG element sounds great on paper, but sucks in expectation. It doesn't fit the play style of sonic the hedgehog, as we get a hub world that is freely explored, but the main levels are played in sub areas? so whats the point of the hub world? to grind for upgrades to increase your stats to the max? It feels like if you want to complete all levels 100% you have to grind until you upgraded sonic enough to be fast as possible, strong as the Hulk, and increase your health or in this case your Ring counter so you can take some more hits before you die. The battle mechanics are a joke as its all automated, you push buttons and do combos but you the player have no free controls on the battle, its just a homing system where your timing of button mashing counts. If I had to compare this game to a previous game in the series, the closest I have on the table would be Sonic 06, the worst sonic game imaginable, NOW does it suck worse then sonic 06..... NO, I dont think it does, its not great but I would rather player this then sonic 06, but its up there for second place. Sonic 06 has a pointless hub world with lame interactions and emotionless NPC humans.... similar to Sonic Frontiers. Its main feature in Sonic 06 are there levels which are in sub levels, so you have to leave the hub world to go in them, similar to Sonic frontiers... You get the general idea, there both shit but Sonic 06 takes the cake as the worst. At least with Frontiers they tried to make it good with the RPG element and the unique hub world, but with you removed that it becomes very boring fast, and in 4hrs you can beat the first world in Frontiers and thats just messing around and exploring, if you were to play it without that you'll only need an Hour at most. Frontiers has 5 worlds and all play out the same, collect all chaos emeralds and beat the Titan. Im giving it a 3/5 stars as the game sounded promising on paper but I feel the developers rushed the game and thats where it failed. Fans were hooked on a promise on a next level sonic game with RPG elements and instead what we got was something of a unfinished game by looks alone. I feel this game was meant to have DLC at some point but with how bad it came out I doubt we see any of that. Shame as I feel if they went back and fixed it with proper updates then this would of been a game for the ages...

It’s so nice to have a good sonic game again sonic feels so good and smooth the combat is really nice For a switch port it’s runs really well
