The proof of the pudding is in the eating... The question is, did this do its job when I went to Istanbul recently, and th answer is definitely "yes"! This includes going into the grand bazaar and coming out correctly at the diagonally opposite corner(no mean feat). The guide is also useful to have with you for cheching details when you are out and about. You do, however, also need the full DK guide to Istanbul for planning the trip and back in the hotel. I strongly recommend buying both before going to Istanbul (and make sure you check which sites are closed on which days when planning - it varies).
