A die grinder that packs a punch, while not shredding your hearing while doing so
I was looking for an air die grinder that had some power behind it. I decided to pick up this model and I've now used it for about three hours stripping paint from a scissor lift using Roloc paint stripping discs. Running between 90 and 100 PSI of shop air, this thing gets it done with ease. I like the rear exit exhaust, the lower noise level, the speed adjustment knob, and the overall build quality. It is stout and a good size bigger than my IR die grinder. I add a drop of oil or two everyday that I use it, and it's running flawlessly. Most of the time I use a Milwaukee 90 degree cordless die grinder, but those don't have much to offer in terms of power. They're great for light work and portability, but there's no way they'd run a 3" paint stripping disc for more than 10 seconds before shutting down due to overload. This Aircat laughs at those discs and is a pleasure to use. Oh, I didn't mention it by it's very smooth as well. If you need power, this is a great choice. If you need the most compact air angled die grinder, then you may want to choose something else. It's not big by any means, but it is larger than most. I would purchase this again, no doubt. It will be a good tool that I bet lasts me a very, very long time.

Quiet and powerful
Quieter than most other grinders in the class. Powerful and runs smooth. I really like the spindle lock, lets you change bits or cutoff wheels with only one tool.

Larger than expected, but works great. Spindle lock and rear exhaust are best features.
This thing is quite larger than the more compact angle die grinders I'm used to, but I'm not disappointed. At first I was cautious based on another review that the spindle lock broke apart within a week, but now I'm really curious how that reviewer managed to do that because I don't go easy on it but it remains locked very firmly every time I tighten it down. It's quieter than usual angle grinders, and the rear exhaust port is one of the best features. I'm sick of having oil splatter all over what I'm working on after oiling regular front exhaust die grinders. It feels like it has plenty of power and feels quite efficient with the air usage. Keep in mind the chuck in the spindle is different from regular die grinders, if you have plans of trying to adapt 1/8 or other things to it. I only use it for wire brushing and it works great for that. The chuck itself though does seem much better designed than regular die grinders and grips/releases the 1/4" shaft wire brushes I use much better. I'm used to them either working loose or getting jammed in the die grinder on typical die grinders. Aircat is part of Florida Pneumatic and I have their impact gun and ratchet too. Haven't had any issues with their tools, and they seem either same if not better than IR, Chicago Pneumatic, and other similar manufacturers.

Fast. Quiet. Power......
This tool does what it says it will do. Use it about 5 hours a day for the last few months. It's really quiet. Has all the power I need out of this grinder of this size. Probably get another one to use so I don't have to switch pads all the time.

Très puissant pour la grosseur. Elle possède un lock pour bloquer la tête, donc juste besoin d’une clé pour changer d’embout. Je l’adore depuis 1 an.

Highly recommend, I use it professionally every day. This is a second product from aircat after buying their aircat 5250-A-T air hammer.

Fantastic die grinder for the price. Lubricated regularly to maintain Performance. Quick change taper collet but don't overtighten, use wrench provided as locking pin will break tip off. When you unbox tool new put a drop off rtv silicone on lock pin bonnet thread as it wants to vibrate out over time if not secured, lubricate and enjoy. Love the 2 speed switch. I purchased a second one but this model has survived everything I've thrown at it except when the combine ate the first one.. Ooops.
